Hey, I'm in denver and just got my first XJ. I've had a ZJ built pretty much as far as it could go, 37's, spooled rear locked front, no top, cage, 4:1, 2:low, long arms, etc. My buddy sold it for me while I was in antarctica. I came back and got a WJ, which I've had for about a year and just had lots of issues, I wanted an XJ but couldn't find the one I wanted. So I just bought a 2000 XJ sport 4.0 auto. I've had it ~2 weeks and love it. It needed tires so I got some 29's and I plan on keeping them for a while but there are a few mods I want to do to get things rolling.

First I want to lock the 8.25, I'm thinking no-slip, I want rocker protection/skids, and I need recovery points. I figure locked rear with body protection I can get myself into a lot of trouble long enough to save for a lift. I got crazy with my old ZJ and I want to keep this XJ daily drivable. I commuted in my ZJ, and it wasn't that bad so I'm not too worried about locking the rear of a DD. I also don't want to dink around with like a 2" lift, so I'll just leave it "stock" for a while. I'm pretty sure I want a 5" or so long arm lift and just like 33's, again I know what it's like to get carried away and I'm not too keen on destroying the DD ability of my jeep for a few years. That's all I got now. I have this big list of things, and I'm really just trying to contain myself right now. See you guys around. I'm on co4x4 too, same name.

This is macks old ZJ right? welcome to the XJ fever! You can do alot with the XJ's are great for a DD in the Colorado conditions. Check out Dutchvdubs setup he has for sale. 500 bucks isn't bad to get your rig up and running.
mine is still sort of my DD on 4.5" lift and 33s stock gears but thats all about to change after this summers re-build up.

Uhh, if it was the ZJ with blue flames that was my ZJ. Mack had a different ZJ that he had built. I did all the work on mine myself. Mack sold my ZJ when I was in antarctica after he crashed it.

I was thinking that big white and purple monster with the monkey painted on the rear diff. Jenn drove it back from TX and we had to go rescue her after blowing his Tstat and stuff in KS.

Yeah that $500 lift seems like a great deal, I gotta get my WJ sold to get some spending money for the XJ. By the time mack got rid of his ZJ it was in good shape but he basically had the entire claytons kit removed and a new custom suspension built, i don't know who bought it. Some guy in foco now has my old ZJ.

Get it posted up on here and on CO4x4 and craigs list it’ll sell. You’ll have some fun spending cash then. Check out the TnT long arm y link kit. That’s the direction I’m saving up for. I’ll sell my 33s and current R.E. 4.5” kit. I have gears and axles that I’m getting ready build up to run 35s. Then the rest will fall in place.
I have a 98xj with 96k stock and my 01xj has over 100k on it.

That's sorta been my plan, to just wheel it with protection and a rear locker a little this summer/fall then jump to a long arm kit. I'm really gonna try and keep it mild (33's) so I don't have to worry about the 8.25 or the 30. My XJ has 119k on it, I'm hoping for 200.

So far I've been luckey with the 33 BFG ATs and teh 8.25 30 setup. Ran posion spider gold bar and golden spike did the crack and all that open no locker with no problems. (knock on wood)
I have a HPD30 and D44 going into it. Got the material to truss them and the gears 4:56. I like to try a few different lines rather than just gun it up stuff, but at times I don't have that option so I do get on the gas and haven't broke jack yet.

Now bent tie rods O boy thats a different story I have a pile up of bent ones on the side of the house.
