Hey, so I got a pretty decent deal on this 1990 Jeep XJ Laredo 4x4. Not new to offroading, use to own a 92 Toyota 4runner that was built for rockcrawling and unfortunately had to get rid of it(still regret it to this day). Missed the outdoor experience and wanted to get back into it.

I wanna keep this a budget as much *** possible. Looking to pick up RE 3.5 sprngs up front and bastard pack in the rear. Any budget suggestions? Oh and is anyone else from around here?

Lots of us in sac area. Blondjon is gunna be your budget parts guy. (has one of everything XJ) have fun with your build.

Ill be giving jon some springs soon. Maybe he will have some left overs that he can "pay it forward" to you for your bastard pack.

I will be back up in the Sac area soon for school.. Theres a bunch of us out there. Where in sac are you?

ya ill have a ton of springs to give out. ill probably be grabbing one set of two leaves for me, and already have a buddy lined up to help RE-build his bastard pack, and there will be a bunch of leaves left.

Yea, if you guys need a hand or wouldn't mind having company with the springs that would be awesome. Really trying to get this thing going soon so I can hit the trails with some of the locals

So I think I just scored it big in the last couple of days, made 2 purchases. First one is a 3.5 RE springs and the next day picked up upper and lower rubicon express arms for a grand total for the 2.............. $80. Since both are about $200 dollars a piece new, this budget build is looking pretty good as far as the front end so far. Also looked around on craigslist and found all four shocks of off a JK rubicon edition for $50, so hopefully I can score on those. Hoping to install it this weekend. Any other suggestions or parts that need to be added to the list?

So looks like I made some progress, after working on the Cherokee in this 100+ degrees weather in my buddy's driveway, we manage to get everything bolted in. Those controls arms were a PITA, but with a third hand we got them in.

Picking up some shocks that are about 5 inches longer than stock, from my measurements they seem about right. Took it for a slow drive around the block with no shocks or sway bars and boy was it a scary feeling, felt like the truck was going to fall apart. Hopefully no vibes or death wobbles after its put together. Just need shocks and quick discos then trails here we come!

Connor- which discos are you talking about, sounds like its around my budget!

Chris- Yea, I actually live right in that area, right in the middle where those 2 parks are. No I don't go to to UTI, but I noticed a couple Cherokees around this area.

Is there a meet that's usually held around this area for fellow jeeps? Would like to get with a couple guys to get to know my jeep a little more!
