Ok first, how strong would you say the factory locker is in an 8.8 with 35's? Also, my brakes suck. Are there any upgrades you can do while keeping it cheapish? Also I've heard a Dakota.steering box bolts up to a factory xj and it does improve. Is this true? I own a 99 xj.

8.8's don't come with a factory locker. They come with a limited slip or an open differential. Some 8.8's come with factory discs so you can swap discs from the junk yard. I'm not sure about the Dakot steering box but I do believe it does bolt right in place. The search function does wonders.

I thnx, I meant limited slip and thank you

I had a limited slip in my 8.8 in my Mustang and it held up for two years at 525 rwhp untill it started doing a one wheel peel. I rebuilt it using more friction discs then it came with stock. Buy two friction pack rebuild kits for it and add half the discs from the second pack and it is supposed to last a lot longer. I haven't put too many miles on it but it seems like the car goes much straighter on launch.

Thnx for the info. Seems pretty strong to withstand that. I have confidense in it. Getting the hardware tomarow. Should turn out nice.
