Hey great info! My boss was just asking me about this on his 98 ZJ, so now he's got a reference to base his decision on.
One note, the NP205 transfer case wasn't available in an XJ from the factory. It's a very heavy cast iron gear driven case, not exactly in line with the light duty stuff on the XJs, especially the 84-86 generation.
