New rig.

Then one day I decided I needed to build new steering. My WJ swap just wasn't working at its full potential in the steering department.
So I did this.

Then one night before I was going to leave to SocalFest, I heard a bang as I was backing up to park in front of my house. Next day found out I had stripped the splines off of my spool on the driverside. Certainly that was from doing burnouts on the asphalt. This is the damage it did to the shaft

Borrowed a stock d44 from a friend and ran that until I fixed my d44. Open carrier handled like a dream on the street. So I decided never again would I do a spool, but an ARB wasn't in my budget. Well, I decided to keep postponing.

Made it out to Huckfest @ Pismo Beach. On the way there I developed a gnarley vibe. Pulledover and check my driveline for play (Singular for a reason). It was tight, I knew something was wrong due to the vibes, but it wasn't loose. So I said lets at least get there. Got in and took this pic while buying a flag.

As soon as I Backed up I dropped my driveline in the sand....

There is 1000 photos i could upload, but I'm running out of time today.

So, ill have to fill in the gaps later. The jeep is 4wd now though haha.

Here is an action shot from this years Sierrafest.Oh and its 2inchs lower then it used to be.

Dibs on that 30 setup when you go to tons... man that is nice

Just purchased a currie 9inch housing. It is 62"wms to wms. Cencalxj will be buying my Dana 44. Sometime after the toys for tots run I'll burn the perches on and throw it under the Jeep. I bought a strange third and Detroit to go in the housing. Haven't decided if I'm going 5.13s or 5.29s.

I also picked up a 2wd beam to replace my 30 while I build a front axle. I'm thinking of going 5.13s in the 9inch first, then using the 5.13 gears in the d30 to match. So I'll still have 4wd.
Although I am planning on a Ford 9inch front completed before koh this year.

I know if I go back to 2wd you guys will make fun of me haha.

Well, running a 2WD beam for a purpose is less to make fun of. Unlike having a built 30 with no front drive shaft, and running/breaking spools on a DD rig.

I would do the 5.29/5.38's whatever.

Congrats on the currie axle ! Badass

Why the hell would you swap in A 2wd axle just to regear your dana 30? Just pull the front DS and then slap some gears in when you get money for them.

I think he wants to sell the d30 to fund the 9" build for the front? Just need the 2wd beam so it's driveable

he said he was going to put 5.13s in the dana 30

He might misplace the drive shaft and be left running only one again.. Haha.

I have two ideas brewing in my head.
Gear my 9 inch to 5.13 and my d30 as well. To one, try out the new revolution gear 5.13s and be able to write up on their strength from my experience. This way also allows to me use 4wd if I need to. (Snow runs)

Second idea is run the 2nd beam, gear my 9inch to 5.29s and jump straight into a front 9inch project. Sell the d30 to recoup some funds to add into the front 9 project. These biz natchez ain't cheap.

If I gear my 9inch to 4.88s I can keep my d30 as is and regear later. This is ultimately the cheapest route towards my front 9 project.

Aside from your penoplasty?

Hey Chris dude share some would ya??

LOL I like the dual 9 idea if run 2wd for a while. It's what you're known for!

Either way it sounds like it comes down to how and when you want to spend your money..

Tube chassis changes things a bit hahah

I think if your going tube chassis, 9" is a waste of time
