Has anyone heard of Redbird State Riding Area. I came out of work and there was a paper on the windshield. Says its open to all OHV and its located 40 minutes south of Terre Huate, which means only about two hours or less from the badlands.

Says $10.00 for a day, and non street legal need OHV sticker.

Just wonderin. Gene MJ

I second

Gene was another of the 'Not Enough Beer for Tellico' stragglers in Tellico '02...but at least he kept fabbin on the MJ into the dark while begging :)

He'll make a fine surveyor.

i probably owe somebody one or two

Woody, I can think of at least ten places to get beer between Columbus, IN and the Badlands, and thats only counting real liquor stores. If your showin for winterfest i'll make sure i get you back, I probably owe KY Chris, Sean, and who ever else was around that camp fire at 1 a.m. in the morning. It was also on that night that i learned the proper name for a Camaro, Tran Am, Firebird, Iroc-Z and whatever else they are called....the "Transmarobird-Z"

Hopefully this MJ thing works out, I was given a D60 at work for the rear, its out of a 99 Dodge, Plannin on a spool for that. Then adding an AAL and a Shackle, with home made spring perches, hopefully getting the rear up to 10 inches. I purchased a newer tranny and t case for a steal.

The front is to be figured out, but i am on the hunt for an axle, if i ever get back to a regular 40 hour week, i might get to axle hunt.

Gene "haven't been on a trail in at leat 6 month" MJ

Woody: I also have a classic pic of you leaning over a rock at the campground, while spotting Sean, I think you are wearing an orange coat, leaning over a rock with can in hand.

I might have beed pouring brake fluid out to deny him the easy lines or I have been getting sick. I'd have to see the pic to determine which.

I was a "Not enough beer for Tellico" straggler with Gene in 2002, but I think i took care of woody in 2003. Gave him at least a dozen beers on my way to the tent (found them on the trail that day, ice cold in a cooler). "transmarobird" has carried on into Indiana.

Here is the pic (body present):

REDBIRD !!!!!!!!!!

Redbird is open and is a great place to wheel. There have been people wheeling there for a decade illegally, but know it has been purchased by the state and with the help of several clubs and several years of work it is open!
If you are looking for something different than the Badlands give a try you'll like it.
Thanx Digger (4wtf)

This is Mike ( Sky Blue XJ) that broke down in the aformentioned auto parts store. Hey as long as i got you ,are you and Pat going to the Toys For Tots this year at the Badlands Dec 6.

Mike-
I thought that might be you. I doubt we'll be at that run...trying to get there on Nov. 15th. I'm real busy and i think the 15th will be the last run for Gene's MJ before it undergoes some serious mods. We'll see though. Later.

Thats cool i wanted to go on the 15th but must have rockrails first and i still dont have a front bumper. I have gained on the process, all the metal is in my garage, so im getting there. What are you guys doing to Genes MJ, Any parts for sale?

digger,

YOu are who i thaught you were, just wasn't totally for sure. Its amazing how many people know of me from NAPA. I really don't see anything happenin for me in Dec. I would imagine the MJ will be down all the way until winterfest.....but, if i get the XJ's trackbar fixed and some other minor glitches, I may attend. Or get ahold of me before then, I would almost always be up for a ride along program.

see ya around, gene

MJ is movin on the right track though. got a lead on a front 60 with detroit, been sittin for three years, but we will see.
