I just wanted to re-invite everyone to visit our site. I know a couple of our members have friends on this site. We are planning a camping trip for next month and invite everyone to come. We have added many new features to the site and it continues to grow every day.

I hope to see everyone there.

Thanks for the heads up, Havent looked around the site yet but I did see the BIG A$$ catfish! Went to see it at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Dpt. in Athens about 2 weeks ago, they named it "Splash" and the thing IS HUGE!(2" shy of 5 foot and 121 lbs) Lake Texoma is about 20 minutes from me... wish I could catch one half that size.

It is on the East side of Lake Texoma about 15 minutes from Sherman. The trip is April 29th thru May 1st. Some people are coming up on the 30th for a single day. We are going to get a boat for Saturday hopefully. it isn't a wheeling trip but should be a good weekend. Nothing wrong with simply camping from time to time.

Here is the link to the trip info: http://www.voodoo4x4.com/modules.ph...ic&t=342&sid=e6575fbec0c0e851114822d0a7335595

Dont know about the camping yet, its up to the wife's work scheduel. I would be able to come up for the day on a few of those days though since its so close. ;)
BTW......
the trails you mentioned... they are "non motorized" trails. (hikeing & mt. bikes)

That's cool. Yeah we found out they had a small dirt bike area and that's about it. We mostly wanted to just go camp and relax anyway. There are several wheelin events coming up so we thought this would be a good alternative for a relaxing weekend on the lake.

Thats about all the lake is good for anymore, that and fishing. All the places I useta go on the Texas side are closed now. (big ticket if you get cought) I do know where there is a spot or 2 around Platter, Ok. if they have not closed them off yet. Just some short easy stuff if you get the itch to wheel while you are there. I'll try to get up there in a day or 2 and see if they are still open.

N Texas huh?

Sorry, can you guys tell me where you buy your XJs in N TX? I just want a cheap 4x4 XJ, stock suspension ($3000 or less, preferably, though I can afford a little more, & I'd like to get something with less than 170k miles, b/c I don't have the money to rebuild an engine).

& maybe tell me where you take your rigs for custom work, (not suspension or lifts) just things like bumpers (especially winch bumpers) & locker installs?

I live in Irving (DFW area). I can get a '91 XJ, 4.0L, auto, for sale in El Paso. It has 116k miles, was just in an accident (damage to passenger rear quarter panel) but has been repaired, has Selec-Trac & ABS (no doubt it has a d35 rear end), & is owned by a jeeper I met on jeepforum.com. $2500. I'll probably buy it, but I'd like to know where you guys find/found your rigs b/c there seem to be way too many 2WD XJ's in this area, very few 4WD's for sale.

(I currently drive a '96 2WD, 4.0, auto, 112k miles, some engine/performance mods like a bored out throttlebody) Sorry to hijack, but Texas people aren't responding to my 'Non-tech' thread about the '98 4WD (186k miles, $4000, lots of broken electrical stuff) (which I'm NOT going to buy)--I just can't find a satisfactory XJ in N TX (don't want a ZJ or Wrangler). Any advice?

Bought mine at a Ford dealer. Only mod I have done is a 2" BB and 31's. Did it myself with some help from a friend in Ft. Worth. About finding one??? Just got to keep your eye open I guess. Up here in Sherman .... you would be hard pressed to find one for less than $3500.oo and all the ones I have seen for about that, aint really worth it... POS or WAY to many miles. As for taking it somewhere to have someone do mods... Do them yourself and save some $$$.
Good luck in your quest. ;)

Exactly how it is here. *sigh* And there's really nothing on the Internet (if you check, there are no 4WD's for sale on eBay within 500 miles of Dallas).

Oh, well, I just don't have the tools to put lockers in. I realize it's easy, but don't you need a press? If you happen to know of a 4x4 repair/custom place that has a good deal on locker installs, I'd love to hear about it. That's about all I'm looking for.

[BTW, I am posting on VooDoo4x4.com also, so if you find me there (same screen name), there's no need to reply twice.]

I think I could do the other mods myself, with the tools I have, assuming I can figure out what I want. Probably just get a 3" OME lift & some good tires. Do you need a press to deal with suspension bushings? Never mind, don't answer that. Maybe I'll see you guys on the TX trails someday. Later!
