hey...
just wanted to introduce myself. i just got a '89 mj "eliminator". the passenger side is missing an "I" (EL MINATOR) and the other side is missing most of the letters but somehow it spells "vATO", go figure. so she has been dubbed "el minator".

but this truck is in overall good shape, 5spd tranny shifts smooth, the engine doesn't make any strange noises and no leaks. the interoir is pretty clean, the driver's seat is ripped showing normal wear and tear. she has some electrical quirks: when i turn on the headlights, both signal (green) arrows light up on the gauge cluster. and at 125,xxx miles she still runs strong with minimal rust bubbles over the rear quarters.

btw... can anyone please help/show me how to adjust the parking brake cables? i keep her in gear when parked so she won't roll away (especially on sloped areas). and also if you know what is causing the signal light issue... i'd greatly appreciate it!

welcome aboard!! you will find alot of great infomation here and some good peoples too! sounds like you have a pretty decent MJ, i would post the electrical/mechanical questions in the OEM TECH forum, there are some guys here with quite a bit of knowledge that can get you going in the right direction and even walk you thru some troubleshooting...

yeah... i thought long and hard to come up with it. lol... good luck with your MJ! what are your plans for her? i think i'm gonna keep mine lookin like a mean street truck because she's not a 4x4, and she's perfect for haulin' my bike!

i know!!! i've read about that, and its soo tempting (especially because winter is coming). i'd definitely do it later on, since right now the funds aren't quite there.

but out of curiousity... how much would this conversion cost?

depends really.. if you get a decent XJ to donate the parts and the required "new" stuff.. under $1000 the right way... never added it up..

Welxome to NAXJA. I've got to warn you though. Those jeeps are habit forming.
