Been on jeepforum for a while, decided to join over here also.

A year and half ago I bought a 99 XJ with 148k on the Jeep. It is the tan or gold color depending on who you ask. Due to money issues, I don't have any recovery points, yet (if anyone has front or rear hooks they would like to give me, I won't not take them). I have played around in the quarry a few times when I first got my Jeep. I know Brendan from facebook (hey this is Adam). Been to Badlands three times riding in other Jeeps.

Some photos of my Jeep.
Street tires up front made the climb for me not do able (that and I probably didn't have enough skinny pedal due to first time off roading).

Tires are all Big O A/T's with a full size spare in back. Clear bumper and corner lights.
I also have some Sport Rack Kayak racks.

Now for some of my wheeling pictures that I took of other peoples Jeeps.

How often do you see the sand hills at Badlands with little to no quads?

Don't how often I will get over here, but figured I would say hi.

As for future plans for my Jeep.
immediate future
*tow hooks (and or hitches), which ever I can find
*sway bar disconnects
*maybe a 3 inch lift (260 from rough country with add a leaf spring).

Long term plans
*front and rear bumpers (custom)
*bigger lift?
*31" inch tires
*winch ?

My goal is to have a nice DD with a mild lift and 31 inch tires. I am not going extreme until I have a second vehicle and can make my XJ my main off road toy. I believe I am going to be at Badlands on Saturday March the 5th with some friends. If I had tow hooks, I plan on taking the easy trails as riding in other Jeeps have made my urge to take mine on trails really bad.

BTW, I am from Terre Haute if you couldn't tell.

If this is in the wrong place, sorry.

Yes, I am.

welcome. You live close to me, I am in Rockville. If you need some help sometime shoot me a pm and Ill see what I can do

When I get a lift, I only have a small garage, so I would need help putting it on.

It's soooooooo pretty.

Recovery points should be first on the list.
Followed by armor if you want to keep it nice.

trust me.
oh, and don't follow Rev.

Thats why mine is still pretty, minus the door that got assaulted by that tree on Trail 21!

I dont' plan on wheeling at Redbird, doesnt' seem too no body damage friendly. Badlands, I don't plan to go crazy, just the easy stuff around the quarry and the creek. And it may look good in pictures, but the rear bumper has a dent from the previous owner and is bent on the bottom from when I was being a good samaritan and pulled a civic off a curb with a ratchet strap to my bumper. I want to trim the extra crap underneath the front bumper (air dam) to make it more like a pre 97 bumper without all the extra crap below the actual bumper part.

redbird is OK if you know what trails to avoid, and it's not rained in the last 3 months.

I wouldn't worry about the front bumper trimming and the like. You'll be replacing it with something high clearance and way stronger anyway if you really plan on wheeling it.

@ flex, your junk is pretty cause your a wuss.

disco "doesnt like to talk about it" steve

Ah Vincennes, the only town where you can get stopped by the same train five times.....spent six semesters at VU before I could finish.

Actually, was looking at some photos the other day and I think I am missing a front bump stop.

Drivers side

Pass. side.

Anyone have one from when there where stock? I don't think wheeling without one would be smart. Plus that might explain how part of my suspension on that side took out my transmission line to the cooler when I had a small wreck last summer.

Just find a pick n pull. Reach in there and pry it out.

Those are few and far around Terre Haute. Called a junk yard earlier today. "Got any parts for a Jeep Cherokee" Not even a second later "no". Really, you within a second taht you don't have any parts I need?
