Hello,
My parents named me William, but, I earned the nickname Doc while serving as a Combat Corpsman with the Marine Corps.
Growing up on the family dairy farm, we had an old ('53?) Willy's and a CJ-5 which we used to chase the cows around (when my Uncle wasn't looking). I came close to owning a Jeep several times but never quite got one.
This year, after coveting Jeeps most of my adult life, I finally was able to get one of my very own. Last month, I took ownership of a '99 XJ.
For now, it will have to be stock. It has to be my daily driver for a few years and I'm suffering from that common ailment funds-r-low. I hope to get a mild lift (3-4 inches) and some beefier tires under it in the next couple years.
My previous steed was a 1990 Blazer 5.7L- 4 Speed- with a 6" Skyjacker kit and 34's.
I did some offroading with the 'Zer but nothing extreme. Mostly used it to get to fishing spots "off the beaten path" so to speak.
I live in Southeastern NY 'bout 70 miles northwest of NYC.
I'm a Lieutenant in the fire department here and my Bride (Lisa) is a Chemist with IBM. We are child free, but raise and train Australian Sheperds.
When I'm not running into burning buildings, I build scale models, build and run RC Cars and fly RC airplanes. I also do a bit of fishin' now and then.
I guess I'm done rambling for now.
Thanks,
Doc Wiseman
