Welcome Brent. I sure hope you can make the trip to the Crawl. It will be a great place to meet the "guys and gals" of the SEC plus some MWC bretheren.

talk yourself out of the lt1 and into an lsx series motor ;) i heard a great saying about lt1's one time "if i wanted to give them away i had to put full beer cans in the cylinders"

when you can pick up a 5.3 for less than 1k with a computer and harness, it reall sells itself

Agreed! LSx is where its at! Keep in mind though that in an XJ, you HAVE to run a LS style intake and front accessories. The truck stuff will absolutely not fit under the hood. The truck engines are cheaper, but by the time you spend all the time and money rounding up the parts you need to make it fit, the LS stuff ends up making more sense.

By the way, unless something just goes terribly wrong, Brent will be at the crawl... with his LS2 Powered, ORI strutted, RCV axle equipped, hardcore bad to the bone badass 2000 XJ! :D

So the 5.2 Magnum out of a Dodge Dakota wont fit?

Welcome Brent, sounds like you will have an awesome rig. Cant wait to ck out the build thread.

Yeah, it will, I was talking about the Chevy truck stuff. But... why would you go through all the trouble to swap in a 318 when you aren't really gaining anything. The 318s don't make much more power than the 4.0, plus they are heavier, and require just as much if not more work than the GM stuff. If I were going to stick with a Mopar engine, it would have to be a Hemi. Otherwise, GM all the way.

Welcome. Can't wait to see the LS2 done! :greensmok

Welcome!
I ve placed my arms on the fender over looking the engine swap..
Does that mean I get some credit for the LS2 swap?

:passgas:

I think I can safely answer for Tyler. Hell NO! That is work! Unless he has a air over hydro bender. :laugh3:
