Hey, I'm not sure if there is an actual area for introductions, so I just figured I'd do it here.

Anyways, my name is Steve. I live in Two Harbors, MN. It's about 20 minutes up the Lake Superior shore from Duluth if anyone happens to know where that is.

I've had roughly 3.5 different Jeeps since I starting buying/acquiring vehicles.

First one was a '93 ZJ Limited with a 4.0. Ended up getting rid of that one when I did some vehicular consolidation.

Next up was the 1.5 Jeeps. I got a '90 XJ Limited and most of a parts '87 Pioneer from my ex-girlfriend's mom. The Limited had some deer damage which I repaired with parts from the Pioneer, which just happened to be the same color. I sold the Limited off to a friend who lifted it, beat the shit out of it, and sold it to a friend of his. Not sure if that one is still going anymore.

My most recent and current Jeep is an '87 XJ Pioneer that a friend gave me for helping him do some work on his house. He sank it up to the headlights in a pond and hydrolocked the motor, but for being nearly 25 years old, the body in reasonable shape. The only soft spots are right towards the rear of the driver side rocker, and the driver side floor. It does have a Dana 44 rear, so that's a definite plus. So far, I've picked up and swapped in a strong-running rebuilt 4.0 with low mileage, replaced a bunch of miscellaneous parts such as brake parts, axle joints, small electrical parts, U-joints, grille, corner lights, etc., ditched the crappy trim on the doors, and crafted a 4+ inch lift out of some coils I got from a friend for free and built a Dakota bastard pack for the rear. I'm running some 31" cheap A/Ts on it for now.

Here are some pictures of my past and present Jeeps:

I'll try to get some better pics of the '87 up soon.

You're really up there in the sticks, aren't you? :D I haven't been through Two Harbors, but I've been through Duluth a couple of times. I do want to make it up to Gilbert one of these days, but it ain't gonna happen this year.

HI STEVE!

I had an 87 XJ that was silver just like yours. Does it have the maroon interior?

How's it going, welcome to NAXJA and the MWC. We like Cheese and Bacon....

Welcome.

Cheese is good.

Cheeseman-OUT!

P.S. I bought my old Baja boat in Duluth..so yeah, you are way the hell up there!!

Hey there,

I bounce back and forth between La Crosse and the Menomonie/River Falls area and up there a ways as well. Its a nice area up that way, I'd like to make it up there more than I do... I do know that myself and the Eau Claire area Offroaders are planning a couple Gilbert trips this/next yr...

This place is awesome, the people are great and if you don't mind the rowdiness, you'll get along just fine!

Tex

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. :peace:

Mine actually has the light blue interior.
We like Cheese and Bacon....
Oh yeah, love the cheese and bacon. I think I can get along here.
Get the lifted pics up.
I'm gonna try and accomplish that tonight. It's kinda crappy out up here today so I'll probably spend some time on the 'net tonight.
Hey, a familiar face (well, SN), lol. I'm charger_340 on Dak-Dur too.

Here are some slightly more current pics with the lift and everything. It's obviously not winter right now, so the only thing different is the lack of the snowboard rack as of this moment.

Shooting for spring 2012 and the new GIA ORV trail will be open in Eveleth (4 miles from Gilbert) so you fellas can come bust your junk without scrubbing red ore off your rigs for the next 6 months!!

I'm pretty quiet on here but I live about 10 miles from the Gilbert OHV site.
