New guy from Allen, TX

whats up guys, joining up since i just bought a 1989 xj. Previous owner was RWhockey89, he wanted a power wagon so i took the jeep off his hands for super cheap:spin1:.

little bought me, Im 20, daily a 04 dodge ram, which has a cst 7" lift going on soon.

its a 4.0 inline 6 aw4 auto tranny 4x4.

as you can see it needs a little body work, which i have some questions about.

Im going to have this as my off road mud toy, so i dont have to heavily modify my 2wd truck.

questions:
lifts? cheapest and easyiest lift?

tires? biggest i can run stock? is there some sort of list as to what size tires can be ran with certain amount of lift?

fenders? If its just going to be a offroad only toy, would it be best to just get some junkyard fenders and cut the shit out of them?

wheels? whats the bolt size with a 1989 cherokee ?


also, if anyone gots some cheap parts to let me wheel this thing soon let me know. i have some 37/13.5/20 toyo open country tires for sale, i could always trade those for some lift items and tires

Oh yeah wheel bolt pattern is the same as a TJ, 5 on 4.5".

i noticed that too, two guys join up both on the green side of life, both have 2wd tow rigs/DD's, and both have red beater jeeps with them 10 spoke jeep wheels that they both want to make trail rigs out of.

lol, im friends with him. We both became friends through dfwrams.com, he bought the jeep a few days ago, but found a 77 power wagon he wanted more so i offered him ~300 for the jeep and i bring 'er home thursday night.

Yes, its the same Jeep rwhockey had. He no longer. Has the Jeep and is probably going to pick up a Dodge power wagon.

Plans for the Jeep include, a small lift, new bumpers, armour and rims and tires.
What size tires would you reccomend with the rough country 4.5 suspension lift?

Hmm...not sure really. Talk to one of the experts here, cuz appearently I get that answer wrong often. I have a big.....ego; so I use big rubbers. Once you have a size, I can hook it up with Maxxis and Pirelli if you don't find anything online.

thanks guys, i got a lsjc member helping me trailer it home thursday, then the tear down begins.

gonna replace all fluids, find some front fenders,hood,grill. then maybe repaint it or something for my first round of mods.


im thinking od green, or something flat colored.
