Hey folks! Just thought I would take a moment to say hello! New XJ owner here! I just picked up a 95 Cherokee Sport 4x4, amazingly clean and rust free! The pictures speak for themselves. So far, unmolested.

Anyhow, Im a new XJ owner entirley, so ill pobably be spending a lot of time in here. I've had a couple 4x4s inthe past, mostly trucks (F150, Ranger, etc). But I know very little about Jeeps in general, so this is a learning experience for me! Im definately excited to get working!
Anyhow, let me know what you think! :)

Thanks!! :)

Hey guys, maybe a bit of a newb question here, but are there any particular weaknesses of this year that I should address right away? Its completely stock from what I can tell, I just want to focus on making sure its reliable before I start tearing into it. I like the fact that parts are so much cheaper for this thing than they were for my 350z lol!

Give it a tune up and change the fluids on it. The 4.0 is a good engine and the AX15 in it is a decent trans too. Should be capable of lasting to 300k with proper maintenance.

Yea thats always the first thing I do when buying a used car, you never know how long its been since the last person changed the fluids! What about weak suspesnion/steering components, bushings, joints, etc? Any other mechanical stuff I should look at? What are the most common parts that break on these things?

Ive already got my wish list going, and I've only had the thing for a day! haha

Check your track bar, TRE's, u-joints, shocks, things of that nature. Also make sure the frame side bracket on your track bar is TIGHT. Not the track bar itself but the bracket attached to the frame. Make sure your cooling system is up to par as well, especially being in Arizona. As for common parts that break. You have a manual so no NSS to go bad on you. I am assuming you have a Crank position sensor still so if it goes bad it will not fire( Manuals are alien territory for me :D)! Just hang out and check out the FAQ's and you should find all you need. Remember to ask questions if you can't find what you are looking for. No question is too stupid, trust me there have been some off the wall ones since I have been on here.
