I slept with my bumper the first night I got it, too, and unlike some other things I've slept with on the first night the bumper was just as good looking the next morning.![]()

ghettocruiser said:I guess the thing is... its not the bumper Im worried about during a failure. Its the person that gets hit by the d-ring/strap if it does break...or the rig that gets hit.
Now...JCR is a great company. Ive hardly, if ever, read anything bad about them. In fact, Im thinkin about getting one of these bumpers. For the price you cant beat it. Its just the fact that Ive seen welds fail. And Ive seen metal fail. Even when its been professionally assembled. Not dissing JCR AT ALL!!! Im thinkin about getting their bumper without those tabs, and installing my own. Even if it voids the warrenty that they provide.
Actually Im thinking about fabbing my own. I have no way to bend tubing or notch tubing. And I really really like their hoop design. Its not big and ugly and clumbsy looking like others Ive seen. So thats probably what will sell me on the JCR. And that they have such positive feed back.
Again...the d-ring tab weld thing is just my personal thought about it. I dont want to start a "is it strong enough vs. its not strong enough" war or anything. haha.

You've peaked my interest tremendously...
Ive kinda been into fabbing my own parts lately. And Ive been really looking forward to starting a bumper. And that tubing set up would go really well with what I had planned.
