Need Floor Anchor

i have decided on making a fix on the rockers befor trying to do a replacement.

i do have a unispoter,port-A-power,and frame rail here to do most of it. i need to make a vertical pull to restructure the rocker but with out a floor anchor ill be there all day makeing mess of things with the slide hammer.

i know its a long shot and most people arn't even guna know what all this means but, if you so happen to know of a place i could use with good floor anchors i could pull off of id be greatfull to know where.

What about rigging something up that you could pull onto with a full size truck or something? Then anchor off that. Maybe put the end of a winch cable under a 2x4 so the hook is nearly all that is exposed then put the front tire of a heavy vehicle parked right on top of that?

Just cut the damage out and use a BFH. One layer of metal should be easy to manipulate.

thx for the help guies. i have thaught about the theroy and seems a little unsafe to do. ill be under the truck beating and shaping. i already have a "car fall" scar and dont need another. lol

i think i can do it if i put it up on stands and take my time. shouldnt rain all that hard this weekend so i think im guna tear into her here shortly.

Glad to hear your doing the rocker replacements. Hopefully the dent won't add too much extra work. You could always add some tie-ins from the rocker to the frame for a little extra support if needed.

I'll be ditching my sliders eventually and going this route, so I'll be curious to see how hard it was.

for now im in a push so im just making them as stright as i can and getting the sliders installed. i am however setting myself up to make i simple slot in them after to slide the replacements' steel in ,after we get back from the tsf trip.

this is the last weekent i got b4 the next two weekends whealiN, so i have to complete it by sunday. after 4+ hrs in the shop im 1/2 done with the pass side.

I think he has a set of regular sliders he's going to use until he can do the full replacement.

Plus the passenger side has a fairly large dent, that smashed the pinch seam flat. It would need a little straightening before some tube could be added.

i have done the rocker replacements on a badly bent set of rockers it is way easyer to straighten them after you cut the outer skin off. we tried both ways. also once you get the tubing in there you have something that works as a large dolly(or anvil) to to beat your sheet metal to. just my .02 take a look at bean8041 jeep we did those in a weekend they were prity easy. we used 2x6 3/16 wall tubing and it fits well. also i feel there is no reason to straighten something your going to cut off any way

I still don't see the point in spending time straightening something that's going to be removed anyways. If the doors open just put the rails on and rock it until it's time for the replacements. My .02

When I put my sliders on I had to reshape my pinch seam a little bit. I just tacked a flat plate to the seam and welded a lever to it. I used some left over uni-strut as the arm. The short end rests under the framerail, then make the other end 3-4 feet long and jump on it!

ok so i did the drivers side. this is fron the previous owner and i was tired of looking at it.

now. after two days in the shop.

more to come today. i need to bolt the sliders up thismorning.
