Ok,
I have been getting a CEL with code 1351 (cam, crank disagree) off and on for a couple of months.
I have replaced the CMP and the CPS, several times on the CMP.
I think I have found the issue. The teeth on the "distributor" drive gear are VERY worn. The stator and sensor had noticable slop in them. I think that this allowed enough movement to cause the issue.
What I need to know is this, Can I swap in a drive gear from a distributor model? Jeep only sells the whole assembly for $300.00. Doable if needed, but crown automotive has the distributor gear for $31 shipped.
anyone ever tried this?
Also, what would make the gear wear so quickly? the jeep only has 90k miles on it.
