If its owned by the USDA (forest service) all camping is legal (its considered wilderness camping)
just check local fire restrictions, currently a burn ban after 4pm in VA and NC (spring wildfire season)

I worked for the USDA for 4 years lol
State parks have their OWN regulations regarding Road use/camping areas. Right now its a 300 dollar fine on gov property for driving on fire roads (around gates) unless you happen to have a key and a usda badge :moon:

the fire bans are set state by state but USDA law enforcement will hold you until the county cops/fire marshal from your county show up to ticket you.
