Hi guys. I just got back from Hollister about 30 mins ago. No pictures from me. I should have taken some though.
I had a good time, but I didn't really hang out with the group much. I met Ed and was going to do follow you guys for a while, but I decided to go out on my own with my dad and check out the park. Seems like you guys have a good time and I'll be sure to make it out to another meet.
I actually went over to the quarry and was playing around there. Climbing up and over the big hill in the center. A brand new 4 door Rubicon gave it a shot and went over pretty easily. He tried again and got high centered at the top. Neither of us had a strap but eventually someone came by and helped him off the top of the hill. It was kinda fun to see a $40k Jeep get stuck where my old XJ did not. His swaybars were disco'd and the axles were locked, just not enough clearance for his wheelbase. I think I would take the Rubicon anyday over my beater XJ. :looney: The only advantage I had was the clearance...I have A/S 30" tires, a cheap 3" lift, stock gears, no lockers, and I didn't disco the swaybars.
The people were very friendly and I give you major credit for bringing out the brand new Jeep! So, if you read this...
