Is the Colorado Chapter doing anything for this?

Glen

I'd buy a ticket or two for yours DJ. :D

Hey, I have an idea......... since DJ can't sell his junk, let's do our own Chapter Give-A-Way raffle! He wants to get rid of it so bad - hell, let's help him! Revoke his membership and take his rig away! :D

But to answer the original question, this hasn't been brought up before. I imagine we could send a Stanton sticker to put on the XJ if the guys putting it together felt it appropriate.

Currently, there are no plans to donate anything toward the effort. Most of that comes from the National sponsors.

Feel free to use this thread to discuss the issue though - we're always open to ideas.

What if we did our own "give away"; between all of us I am sure we have more then enough parts to put a decent stock XJ together over the course of a year, We could donate one to a family who needs a car every year..

just a thought...

That right there is a GREAT idea. It doesn't have to be outfitted or anything just a good stock XJ in good driving condition for a family that could use 1. any kind of car. 2 one with a few kids that could use the space an XJ has to offer.

Not anymore, I was to have some substantial involvement until they changed rigs. Now I know nothing about it.

Do I detect some underlying negative current here?

MWC is donating the front axle, SoCal the back. That is why I was asking. Not sure what else was need but I did think we should do something. Any ideas?

If they need anything, they should let me know. I'll double check though. Pretty sure it's all covered though. Almost all of the parts are being donated by vendors.

Cool. SoCal was asking for axle parts maybe we can donate a locker or something if there is nothing else that is needed. Thanks for checking!

Who's gonna pay for this locker? The Chapter could...... but then we'd have to cancel Colorado Fest....... :thumbdn:

DJ - was it you who had the money tree this week? :D

I was thinking more along the lines of what is needed and how much does it cost...then we could see if as a group we could pony-up the funds.

I will probably actually be able to attend CO Fest this year so I don't want to interfere with that! :D

What part of NM are you in? I just got back from an interview in ABQ, looking like it might be a definite possibility. I was there for two days and only got to drive around a little bit. What is your honest take on the area (if you are familiar with it)?

I love it here. I live on the NW side of ABQ. Typical suburbia. Stay away from the south side (East or West) with the exception of 4 hills. NE is nicest and most expensive part of town. (Actually what they calll the Far Northeast) Not nearly as crowded as CO but also not quite as much to do in the city.

We have the same issues any US city does so certain areas are crime ridden, others are fine.

There are plenty of places to wheel. Most are fairly easy but still fun.

PM me if you have any specific questions.

I feel bad about this DJ...in the shuffle and the lag in time I forgot about the stuff you had.

Would the center console still work? I wouldn't mind working on the interior of this one still...it needs some TLC.
