I know that many of you guys here in JS forum live in Socal. Some do their own fab.....some don't. I figured I'd post up a pic of the bumper I just added to my Bronco. I had it done at Pirate Lab in Corona. If you don't fab and live in Socal...you need to know them.

They still need to add a lower brace for the skid (after I decide on a skid shape and size) and we need to figure out a cool way to mount a removable light bar for my lightforce lights. Bumper is on and HUGE thanks to pirate lab in Corona. They were originally going to mount my main tube but plans changed and I ended up getting a completely new bumper. The main tube is 2" vs. my was 1.75". They were great with keeping me informed and I basically told them to do what they thought would look good and I'm glad I just let them do what they do. I'll attach a pic of my original tube on the one they made. Theirs looks tons better in my opinion. The one I had looked to sit too close to body at the corners (and stuck out past fenders a bit). Enough talking.....pics.

Hell yeah it did Jim. I was never really able to match that other bar up. Once they did (and Justin already talked to me and knew my taste) it was clear it wouldn't look good. They are brainstorming right now to find a way to make the light bar removable but still keep the truck clean (no posts just sticking up).

Now I can get some rear leafs/bilsteins then throw them and the cut and turn beams/coil buckets/fox shoxks up front all on until I save up for coilovers.

Looks good! I might have to talk to them about modifying my JCR just a touch, unless I find someone closer...:)

You could have the light bar mount to tabs that are behind the skid plate. you might have to take the skid off to put it on and take it off, but that wouldnt be that big of a deal :dunno:

lookin good!

im a Ford guy at heart, just lost interest in the fullsize my Bronco has say in the garage untouched for 8 months, i gotta get some air in the 36s now that i think about it. this sparks my interest now though haha.

Thanks for all the input guys.

Darky, they are worth the drive and I doubt you would find much better any closer. They worked friday evening then pulled an all nighter saturday so I could have it back by sunday. I really can't say enough good about them.

Cory, it's not "lift" its "wheel travel" that I want. If I could get 15-16" travel the height it sits now, it would stay this height. But, until I have Pirate notch the frame for uptavel......up goes the bronco. haha

Wheel travel is where it is at! Bumper looks good, reminds me alot of someone else's.....

I'm stoked that you're stoked Andy.

I hate to say it, but Broncos are pretty sweet. I want one.

Now your Talking Justin.....Bronco's are where wheel travel is at!

Not to steal Andy's thunder, but Pirate did a kick butt job on mine as well:

Well, I figured I'd throw an update on this bumper as it gets closer to actually being completed. Again, THANKS Pirate Lab for allowing me to do it in stages as I can afford. I was set to chase for Filars (and a 9 car with Tony) for the ORAF 500 last weekend and I wanted to run my lights as the race runs well into the darkness. I called Pirate Lab in Corona and they agreed to get it done for me on Friday (they actually pulled off another job to get me done on short notice). After talking it over with them I went with a removable light bar mounted on top of main tube. Pirate lab will rush for you but they don't cut corners (still capped ends and actually machined the sleeves on their lathe). Here's how it came out.

Dude, looks so good Andy.

By the way, x2 on the thumbs up for Pirate... they hooked it up super quick on Friday too!

what a piece of crap. if you put it out on trash day let me know :eyes:

lookin good mang!

Tomorrow afternoon it will be out...ok Mike? hahaha

So, after getting the bar made at Pirate, I headed home and after a Birthday dinner with my wife and son I hit the garage. Wired up the lights (with remote control relays Tony hooked me up with) and cut out the grill (I bought that afternoon) to clear the lights and headed out to the desert with some friends. I was out there until about 1:30am. The grill is a rough cut and from up close looks like ass but I already have a replacement for try #2. What do you guys think?
