If you're goin for MPG ya can't beat a diesel Vdub. And you can get an old jetta or rabbit or somethin for CHEAP. 50mpg... sounds good to me too.

Ya I thought about those but I don't want anything older than a 2000 and one guy here has the TDI and loves the milage, but he said the last two VW he's had hit a point and everthing starts to fall apart and the repair cost are nuts on those things. He said he's going to drive this one tell it dies. The GTI does pretty good on gas aswell but same thing with repair cost and electical problems. My cousin had a DTI and loved it tell he had to take it in a few times and the repair bills were stupid crazy. He has a mazda3 and loves it.

I’m in the hunt for a gas milage car my self. Here in a few months. I really like those Mazda3 and 6. but it's going to left stock no wings or stickers or well maybe some rimz but that will be it.

we have a MZ6. Not sure I'd recommend it. It hasn't been terrible but not stellar either.

Thats the way to use the old noodle. Very redneckish of you I'm proud. We were pressing on some knucks on a D44 that we had to shorten. yes shorten for a guy not sure why but we couldn't keep the axle in place on the press and stuff so we wrapped one around it to hold it and the other two to help lift it. O man that got scary at one point.

I have had Mazda B2200, Isuzu Pup, Honda CRX, and Toyota Tacoma. I owned all those rice mobiles. Sorry if I offend you by calling your Honda Accord a rice mobile. So I have owned Imports I still call them rice. I have owned a Honda CBR600, and Yamaha R1. Rice rockets. 3 Honda 400EXs, 450R, and Suzuki Z250. I don't understand why people get so bent out of shape about calling a import car rice??? Give me a break. I don't think a car cares if it called rice or not?? Why does it bother you so much? Do feel guilty about something? I mean people call a Tbird a Thunderturd. Or a Thunderchicken. I owned two Tbirds and I thought it was funny. So all I am saying is lighten up don't call names. I not calling you names I was referring to a piece of metal with 4 rubber tires.

Kruat burner. I like that one. Rice to me is a insult. Most people Ive convienced that rice is everything listed on that ticket. I hate honduhhs so I wont say I own that, but my Cressidas are clean and dont have any spoilers blingy chrome rims. The engine bays are clean but I try to do that to all my vechiles. Calling a beautiful stocker import "rice" is a insult, cant we just call it a "clean car"? If it was hiddious and covered in stickers it rice. Because a AEM sticker doesnt give you an extra 25HP.

I don't see it as a insult. Sorry you get offended so easily. My buddy has a nice Honda Accord and he calls it rice. German cars are not rice they not from Asia. I like German cars too. I had a mint 85 BMW 528e. That was a cool car. I would shine it up and go cruisin. People would about break there necks checking it out. I had to laugh. Never thought a car like that would get looks.

Ten years ago it wasn't a big deal. We just thought it was funny. I guess your gen takes the word different. The word was used back in the 80s and 90s to describe Jap cars. Joke was import cars burn rice alcohol. And american cars burn corn or wheat alcohol. When word was coined it was just used as origin of the vehical or nickname. That old 70s 80s import sports cars started the phrase rice burner. And that was before there were plastic stick on parts on the ricers. Sorry I am not PC and down for the new lingo. I must be getting old when I offend people about calling some car rice. If you Wiki rice burner you will read the word has been used for long time.

its an 02, pre sti yes. but i had an 04 2.5 sti motor swap in it then it was stolen and i got half of what i owed on it from insurance. now i just have the jeep and couldn't be happier

You left out Rice-Rocket. First time I heard that phrase, it was a reference to the "new" KZ-750: It was light, quick, and all the teenage boys wanted one.

Before the Arab oil embargo, (yes, I am that old) cars were big, heavy, quiet, and smooth riding. When prices went up, the econo-boxes that were available were small, light, and not so smooth; quite a transition. Some thought they were death traps. The perception of quality was always a point of ridicule. Looks like Japan has come a long way!

I've owned Toyotas and Nissans and don't get why they hate for the name ricer or rice rocket is so bad? My turbo pulsar everyone back in the day called it the rice rocket. I also called it a POS and SOB because I went through a few tyranny’s with that thing.

I don't find it characteristic of Japan and Asian people because most of the rice rocket owning folks up here in cow town are Hispanic. Would those be bean burners and not rice rockets then? This whole Political correctness $hit is getting out of control. I always associated it with learning about the fact they used rice based fuels unlike what was used in the U.S.

well i had and 97 gsx fun car but the ex took it...i have had my 89 iroc z since i was 18 and it sits in the garage gotta rebuild the motor...and also use to have a 00 mustang gt fun car but made bad choices...still i gotta say love the bowtie and the jeep...also the wife has a 97 maxima that i wanna turbo but she wont let me

Thats the way I heard it first also. Befor they called them crotch rockets they called them rice rockets. Today I would never have know sombody would take offence to the term. It was what they were called.
