All I need is a disconnect D30 geared 3.55 to get operational 4wd on my MJ (the D44 I put in the rear has 3.55, an upgrade from the original 3.07 D35.) Should be pretty easy to find, right? So I went to my local U-Pull this morning, and found everything but.
The red MJ that I recalled as having 4.0 AW4 231 from the last time I was there was gone, but I found another red one. Unfortunately, it was a 2.5 AX5 2wd. I snagged the tailgate, which is the only thing I got today.
There were several nicely equipped XJ's there: 2 with gas tank & front end skids & front tow hooks, one of which had a rear tow hook and the other a class III hitch; and a third one with an outside spare tire carrier. Also, I spied 2 IH Scouts with intact D44 rears, and a later model Grand Wagoneer with intact D44s front & rear. I would have grabbed the skids & hooks, but I only brought a bare minimum of tools for pulling a D30 and I don't really have any room for any more parts!
So, if anyone needs any of that stuff, the U-Pull is located on Berlin-Cross Keys Rd in Pine Hill, NJ. I can give better directions if anyone is interested.
