My first Jeep/my newest money pit!

The verdict is the alternator. Even with a fully charged battery it'll crank but won't stay running if you pull the connector off of the terminal. Also, the connector for the positive terminal is completely trashed where it was over tightened and snapped one of the ears slightly. So I'm going to park it until Saturday and take care of it when I know I'll have the light to dig into it since I get home right before dark now. haha
Time for an alt relocation!;)

Man does everyone from IA work for Omix. Haha. I have been talking to Paul and Guy about some about Jeeps. I see you still got the Wagovan. I miss all my old EF's.

By the way I am Charles that used to own Main Stream Performance (hence MSPi)

Welcome to the jeep club. I gets addicting.

Small world! I've been out there a few times and some buddies have had their cars built or tuned there. There are a handful of us "IA guys" up here, although I've been a MOPAR man all my life. :) Get another 4th gen! I could never part from my wagon, I'm looking to do an h or f2b at the moment, just dragging my feet on it.

I was gonna ask if you owned stock in rr with all their stuff on your rig, good luck with the build

Today I replaced the alternator, battery, battery terminals, cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. It runs so much better, topped off the tank and and replaced a few fuses as well. :)

I got my tag this morning and drove it in to work. It runs a lot smoother now with that basic tune-up. I bought a coolant temp sensor, new wipers, and a cargo storage bag for it. One of the ball studs on the body portion for the hatch is broken, so I'm going to look into that so I can get the hatch struts installed soon. I ordered a set of 1" poly spacers yesterday to go with my ORV 3in front lift parts, and I'll probably order some Pro-Crap 3.5-4in leafs soon. :)

Jeep is looking good man! Pull-a-part usually has ton of the strut balls.

I got your PM, no sweat on my end. Just shoot me a text when you think you will head this way. No rush.

Awesome, thanks man! The ball stud itself isn't exactly broken, it's the body around the ball stud. Just at a glance I think it's going to need to be welded.:banghead:

kinda wish i lived in GA.. VA sux ars, no helpful jeep guys and northerners piss me off (drive like maniacs and talk like dushbags)

the door's only a few hours south...:kissyou:

I'm not very helpful due to location, but if you're up for a trip, I'm up for a couple minutes of welding to get it fixed. I'm a Northerner by birth, but moved here for the better people so I know where you're coming from.
