Moving to cali from hawaii

How's it going I am moving to Moreno Valley just wondering what places are near by to go off road. I grew up there, but wasent introduced to 4 wheeling until I moved to hawaii, so I have no idea what my options are.

Big Bear, JV / Stoddard Wells, Calico, and a bazillion other places. You're pretty much in the epicentre.

When I was growing up here in Redlands, we used to wheel the snot out of San Timoteo Canyon. We used to camp near a ridge between Moreno valley and Redlands; there was a natural spring with the creek running down through a Eucalyptus grove. Back then the only good thing about Moreno valley was Riverside International Raceway; now, the raceway's gone.

There is just about any type of terrain you can think of within 30 - 90 minutes, depends which direction you go.

I have a good friend that lives on the big island, Trying to talk the wife into moving there.

Yep military service is up. Kinda, transfering back to san diego, but will be living in MoVal. I should be back sometime in june.

My dad is an XJ owner, that has never been off road. I would like to get him off the pavement a few times. I am trying to talk him into lifting his jeep, but he is thinking about trading for a newer one and isnt to sure about making an off road "jeep" I am trying to spread the bug off on him. Any suggestions/recommendations??? currently he has a 89 limited 4dr I6 auto which may be for sale soon.

He said that he would give it to me, but I cant afford 4 cars. As it is when I get home I will have my XJ a elcamino and my wife's car. It would be nice to have a trail rig though. what a predictament

Im actually going to be stationed at NAS North Island but I will be living in Moreno Valley on the weekends.
