By Ghetto you must be talking about those hack jobs where they cut out the back of the housings, have the projectors stick out the back and cover them with PVC plumbing material or worse, unsealed from the elements and have to cut a hole in the header panel to allow to fit.

Their lights produce the correct amount of light for a bi-xenon system, and they have a proper cut-off. If you fail to understand that than you simply fail at life. I'm not going to spend another night arguing with children, so if you want to whine about your marvelous twinkle light set-up than I suggest to go back to CF to do so. They'll gladly drink your milkshake.

They do have proper cut-off and produce a large amount of light. Thank you very much.

Have you seen these in person? NO you haven't. Have you tested them? NO you haven't. Until then you have no right to insult our workmanship and quality of our retrofit.

Lol. Twinkle time?

Not only did I insult your twinkle lights, I lol'd them amongst friends.
Anywho I'm done with you, but don't fret. Whenever I need some retarded advice I'll be sure to visit you on CF.

Aside from the first few retros, the last ones are Ghetto.

Not to spoil the fun guys, but any chance of steering this thread back on topic? I'd still like to see a legitimate write-up on what people have done with a small projector (and which ones) in which housings. I'm not afraid of cutting the header panel or chopping up a housing, but I'd like to do so minimally and in a secure weather-proof manner. I appreciate the ingenuity of the PVC caps and the like, but it seems like you're just asking for trouble if you drive through really heavy rain or blast through a puddle off road. My rig is not treated very lightly, so I need to build a robust set-up. I've searched multiple forums, but it seems like threads like this end up in bling or arguments more than legitimate ready for business set-ups.

How about some shots of the actual light they produce? The images posted thus far are not very impressive.

I'll try and take some comparison shots between my Jeep and my BMW soon. I still have to take the bullbar and grill off so I can put the ballasts in a place that gets a little bit more airflow [between the battery and the fender on the pasenger side gets a little bit too toasty for the ballast], so it won't be for a couple of days maybe a few more since I need to change my bulbs from a color temperature of 4300k to 6000k... ["production" units will be 6000k]

Sounds pretty legit. Though I am a bit more of the DIY mentality, I was kind of hoping to see how people are accomplishing things. I understand you probably don't want to share your design if you might be cranking them out for sale, and that's cool. Any lead on the projectors you're using? I'd prefer no angel eyes, but I'll take what I can get.

I completely understand that and I am too [hence why I decided to make my own projector retrofit], but the projectors that I'm getting are a bit of a "special package" that I'm getting directly from the seller [which means other people can't get them].

About the angel eyes. Whether you decide to hook them up or not is completely up to you. ;)

HID light output is incredible compared to basic old halogens. It's hard for pictures to capture it, but when you drive behind them, they're awesome.

^^Exactly. Lol. But I'll try my best to get a good picture.

^^I have to admit, this is pretty funny. Lol. RAINBOWS!!!!!!!!!! :jester:

The thing is, when someone's spent so much time, work, MONEY, cutting, etc., their ego is severely invested into the project. So it won't matter how obvious it is that there might, just MIGHT be a neater, cheaper, different way of producing similar results, of course you're going to be met with obstinate denial and childish insults.

I'm not even going to pretend to know everything (or very much period) about optics. But I've seen both style projectors at work, and I can tell very little if any difference between the two. Let the projector snobs continue to collect their own farts in brandy snifters and enjoy the sweet sweet smell of denial.

It was hard to tell the different between the Halogen and HID output IMHO.

Of coarse their version doesn't involve any cutting plus they have 'angel' and 'devil eyes', bmw influenced styling, plus a pinch of twinkle and a dash of glitter (which has to count for something I've been told). I know people like to take potshots at the price I paid for my lights back in 05, but the fact remains plenty others (sbxj, Ben824, mmag1982) built better lights for less than these Fast and Furious fanboys.

"Fast and Furious fanboys"... Now that's a good one! Lol. :roflmao:

You also forgot to mention that I soak them in unicorn blood for a little more light output. :laugh2:

As for the price, they're cheaper than you think. :wave1:

Have you seen them in person? NO! Like PetrolHead said, it is very difficult to capture the true light output of HID projectors in photographs. The fact that I'm using my cellphone to take pictures probably doesn't help either... Nor does the fact that my projectors have 4300k bulbs in them. Lesson learned. Switching to 6000k bulbs ASAP. ["production" version WILL have 6000k bulbs]. You wouldn't happen to have a luminance meter that I could borrow would you? That way we could put an end to your useless banter about "It [being] hard to tell the different between the Halogen and HID output [...]".

First off, it's course not "coarse" unless you're describing the grit of a piece of sandpaper. Second, only my personal set of projectors have "devil eyes". I got them as a joke and for troll bait [which you obviously fell for. Lol.] The "production" version WILL NOT HAVE DEVIL EYES!!!

Dang right I'm using "bmw influenced styling"!!! I have one. Why not draw inspiration from it and apply that inspiration and innovation to my Jeep?

You paid how much for your "retrofit"? And you're arguing with me about what $ I have into this project... SMH.

Btw, Ben824 has angel eyes.

P.S. What's wrong with the Fast and the Furious movies? They're pretty entertaining [like your posts] IMHO.

P.P.S. Who put bees in your undies? Did someone forget to drink their prune juice this morning?

Whatever. Haters gunna hate.

You know what Yan? Why don't I make a thread in the Non-Tech/Off Topic section of the forum dedicated solely to you where you can say whatever you want about my projectors? Your verbal diarrhea is not contributing any useful information to this thread.
