I have compared lockout hubs on both MM and WARN....there is not much difference between them. I even opened them up and compared internals. MM has different materials inside of lockout hub, loocks like composite vs WARN bronze or aluminum innals. time will tell I did that after I got MM conversion for my Cherokee. U have to use cast irion rotors with 1/4" thick flange for safety purposes. and machine pilot hole to 3.575" .....Kit comes pre-greased, pre-assembled vs WARN doesn't . I am waiting for rotors to come back from machine shop, otherwise I would have installed the kit and tested it ....
Pit.

I emaild this to MM:
"I'm interested in the hub converson kit you sell for my year
XJ.
I've been doing a little research ( on Jeepforum.com & naxja.com)and am trying to figure out exactly what else is involved to get this kit on my truck. There seems to be some confusiuon about it all ... even among those that have installed the kit... From what I have read I need to change out my rotors with some from an earlier year Wrangler (full cast)? What years can I use? Also I need to get the rotors machined? How much need to be ground off?
I already have aftermarket wheels that should accomodate the hubs (ar-767s) so all I should need is the kit & rotors?
People are comparing your kit to warn and saying that the warn kit comes with alloy outer shafts & yours doesn't, is this correct?"

Response:
"As far as I know, our kit and Warn's kit contain virtually
identical parts.

Sent me the first 2 pages of the instructions .... yes you definitely need the rotors machined ..... still not sure about using ranger rotors though. Also, I don't know if I'd trust "As far as I know" to mean that the outers are alloy .....

Who ever said anything about using ranger rotors?

A few people have mentioned that the parts in their MM kits strongly resemble parts off a 4wd Ranger .... and that they think the ranger rotors would work.

Just need to find someone with the kit already and have them compare their rotors to someone with a Ranger....

But what good would that do ya? :puzzled:

If it makes any difference, the price includes shipping.

Well I'd think stock ranger rotors would run less than getting wrangler rotors machined.....

Lucas .... the $580 is supposed to include shipping as well .... according to someone on JU ...

newp.... ranger rotors are 100 per and they wont work anyways

$100 where and how do you know they won't work? Not trying to argue I just want to make sure before I rule things out.....

Yeah I already read that ...

first post says:
"I'll be willing to wager the stock Ranger hub/rotor slides on the conversion spindle perfectly. "

Later on it says:
"As I just explained, the hubs and outers are the only custom parts. The rest can be had at NAPA."

I don't see anything in there that says that Ranger rotors wouldn't work ...

If they are the same price as getting new wrangler rotors & having them machined it doesn't really matter anyway.... but it would be nice to be able to not have to get my rotors machined everytime I need new ones...

Thanks for the enlightening explanation :confused1

Don't see why you can't just answer a straight question:laugh3:
