Mini-wrench fest at my place next Saturday May 14th ~10:30AM. Beer and grilled dead animal flesh will be provided.

Got some work to do on my XJ and there is room to work on anothers heap too. Its outdoors so if it rains, it'll be pushed off to Sunday.

I need to put on new front shocks and place some shims on the back axle ( I ate up a u-joint). Would also like to relocate the ARB compressor to a different location.

PM for directions.

I'd be glad to help ya out Jack...

but...

I'm hoping to have some tires by that weekend so I can finally swap in my 8.8...

Well, maybe we can work something out and help each other out next weekend. I don't think that you live all that far from me as it is...

BTW, thanks for the offer of the shims. I've a pair of 4* shims that should align everything up nicely (if I measured correctly). :D

... and I'm in a "decent" neighborhood!

:D

Awhile back someone was trying to make off with the D44 and 8.8 when they were in the driveway...

Surprised the jackstands haven't been replaced with cinder blocks or milk crates!

ARGGGGG

You are in a decent neighorhood. Nice houses, well kept, quiet. But it's still Chicago!

When I used to live on the South Side of Milwaukee (city proper) one night at 3am the door bell rings. I go to the door and it's the cops. The guy says, "do you know the condition of your garage?". At that point I figured someone either burned it down, tagged it, or some drunk ran into it. Turns out all that was wrong was the overhead was open and my Jeep ('89 I had at the time) tailgate was open. The cops figured someone broke into it. Fact was we were unloading it and I forgot to make the last trip and get the last load and button it up. The thing sat open from 9pm till 3am and nothing was missing! The garage sat on an alley so the overhead was faced away from the house.

Now I live in the middle of nowhere and you can leave the keys in the ignition.

Hmmm... Is HD hiring?

:D

Yes and no. It's hit or miss right now. When we have an opening they fill it. But they are not adding to the numbers at the moment. There is a Harley Hotline number that you have to call to see if they are hiring and for what. It's a PITA because you have to call it daily forever (sometimes for a year or more) to find a job they're hiring for that you qualify for. If you are in the skilled trades your odd of getting in are much better. But even if you know someone there it's tough to get in. You have to pass a test which many fail, then an over the phone interveiw. Until you get past that know someone there will not help you at all. After that recomendations can be made.

BTW,

It's a great place to work, I'd say the best in the midwest if not the nation, so I would encourage anyone to work hard to get in.

Sorry bout that.

I will not be there, sorry. Gotta work amoung other things, have fun though.

Well, its not like I've that much to do on my heap. And by the looks of your project an extra set of hands (not to mention jack-stands) might be helpful there. Have beer will travel... :D
