Kraker, about how far from me is this place? Sounds fun!

Prob 2.5 hrs from you. It is about an hour up the 5 from LA, I would assume somewhere around the top of the grapevine about frazier park or gorman. That is 2 hrs from me going the back way thru lancaster.

My august it totally booked, wedding, bachelor party arty: , and wifey stuff, but would love to run it some time. Let me know how it is.

Thanks! That worked, i get 2 hours 19 minutes from here, doesn't seem so bad. Almost like going to Azusa and then going one more hour or so, I can handle that. Especially if we don't have to meet at 6 am LOL.

Sounds like fun, although for me and ill wife, money, and crap bushings are the restricting factors. I have one replaced, with two waiting to go in, but the old ones don't wanna come out. However once a date is set I will see what i can do to work my way in.


PS: Anyone have a good press and vice for pressing bushings out of a LCA?

I've done that trail twice back in the mid 90s with my stock yj. Nice scenery but fairly easy.

Yesterday i did Miller, Yellowjacket & Piru Creek. 1 fullsize 71 GMC Jimmy open/open & 3 CJs on 31s open/open thru without an issue. Its not that hard.

hey guys, just giving a little heads up. i'm gonna have to check into this a little further to know exactly when, but from what i hear, the miller trail is going to be shutdown for the rest of the season in a couple of weeks due to how dry it is and the fires that have been happening. we're losing alot of trails here around bakersfield/lake isabella due to this. i'll keep checking on this thread because i would like to run this before it closes. i'm only about 40 miles north of the trail and have never done it, but i hear it's a nice run and it's close to the offroad park if anybody wanted to run around in there.

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna set a date of Sunday sept 2nd. Hope some of you guys can make it. If I can't get atleast 2 other people to go, consider this run a bust. Hopefully the trail isn't closed by then. Lemme know what you folks think.

:wave1: Boy those picture's are from a long time ago . That area doesn't look that beautful anymore ,because of that big fire last year. I will but in for trail leader if you wish .I think it would be better to run it before labor day weekend .:idea:

Yeah everything from the trailhead to the creek is ash & stumps! Piru Creek is still green and some parts of Alamo.

Make sure you bring water and some wet wipes cuz its extremely dusty!

I might be up for it if I'm not working that weekend if you guys don't mind a Toyota in your group. Yellow Jacket Canyon is a cool little side trip (one way in same way out unless, you're on a bike). Does anybody remember the old trail before they rerouted it over the top? That was a cool trail with lots of rocks and water crossings.....damn environazis! There's also a place called the Badlands Corridor that's wide open and offers everything from sand wash blasting to boulder hopping.....I'll try and dig up some info if anybody's interested. There is (was last weekend) another fire going on up in that area so, you'd better call the ranger station for some up to date info----------Hans
