Military Surplus in the PNW?

wrecked

NAXJA Forum User
I'm heading down to Ashland in a week to finish up some certifications and I was hoping to maybe find a place that sells military surplus along I5 where I could possibly pick up a set of hummer double beadlocks for my XJ.

Does anyone know of any good places between Longview, WA and Ashland, OR?

Thanks.

I dont know that the type of place I am looking for is specifically a Military Surplus store. I would like to find a place that keeps a stock of military auto parts and such.

Your not looking for a military surplus store. You want DRMO. As for getting your dbl bead locks from a HMMV , it won't happen. Unless you purchase the entire vehicle. They won't sell off just the wheels. Those get turned back into DEPOT if they are still good.

Ain't that the truth. I've seen pallets of Swampers and GY MTs from them...with sidewall slices, etc (unusable as tires) but never any wheels at DRMO stations I've been to.

Darn. I saw them posted on Pirate quite often but I didnt have the axles at the time and they all appear to be snatched up now. I guess I'll have to keep looking or find a good weld on kit.

Thanks for the help.

Gear a'drift is a gift.....

You can pick them up recentered to whatever bolt pattern you want from usa6x6, stazworks, or CJDean over on pirate for a fair price. I wish I would have gone that route because it ended up costing me the same amount to recenter my own.

I'm not quite sure that I need them recentered. THey come stock as an 8lug pattern which is what I need, and being that I'm fullwidth I wouldn't mind a slightly narrower backspacing to keep my wheels under a set of fenders if I need to get down a road or something.

I'll send those guys a few PM's to see what I can work out.

Just for fun I'll show you want I'm working on.

This guy is getting some big meats, some heavy axles, a wee bit o' lift and a lot of tube(still keeping full sheet metal though).

I just got out of fall quarter and I'll have a little time once I get back from Ashland, so we'll see if I can't get the axles cleaned up and some sliders made over the break.

Yes, it would be far too much. I have a folder in my "favorites" with different websites and information that will help me along the way with my build. I went back through the hummer rim section and found that the stock H1 double beadlocks would need to be recentered, but the H2's would not. I got the two a little confused. The double locks on recentered h1's would be nice, but it looks like I will be going with a weld on kit.
