thats awsome, except for the mini van tires

that would look really good with about a 4-5" lift and 33's. Wonder if the leaf springs are the same length as XJ leaves...

That would be a sweet daily driver. Rush hour would be much more fun thats for sure.

It wouldn't be too hard to "clear" a path would it????

huh? are you unaware of the military jeeps being manufactured over in egypt?
its not that, this is just a unique design probably a fraction of the weight of a humvee yet has almost twice the fire power of a standard 1 gun humvee setup and it lacks a heavy duty suspension and the enclosed cab, which protects driver aginst unnecessary noise. I dont know if you've ever heard a M2 machine gun fire, but the last place you want to be is in a front row seat near the muzzle, and the M240b in the passengers seat racking off 7.62mm rounds ??? Granted the fact that there are open top humvees, those are rarely fitted with a 50 cal. in this fashion.

verdict: Looks Pretty and all, but no practical US military use in mass quanity. I dont foresee this on the front line anytime soon, especially in the up-armored vehicle / anti-IED war we are fighting

you can keep your jeep, im keeping my ASV

KP :patriot:

you can't get them in the us without a heavy tax (never made for the american market) BUT aev is importing brand new j8's minus the engine and trans, basically it falls under a kit car and no tax. then you can outfit it with the factory four cylinder diesel or a hemi i believe.... all in all its like 50 grand to get one but the leaf sprung rear and semi float d60 rear are cool, the frames are way more heavy duty in a lot of areas as well gvwr is around 4k pounds

yeh they wont make it in our military and i seriously doubt that all of them will look like this one with the guns and all... its a lightduty transport, maybe scout, personel carrier, or something else but hey they fired 50 cals in the back of willys :D

and its not at all like the JK except in looks and some basics,

its got the d44 up front a D60 with limited slip in the rear, HD leaf springs rear for a payload capacity of just over 2k lbs and 4 link coils in the front. the frame is reinforced every which way to help with the sturdiness of optional payload and the tub itself is gusseted about 50 times more than the JK here.

and doug your right on AEV importing them. i think they start at about 40K but with all the extra options you can get go about 50K and they come as a component vehicle, so no VIN or engine but AEV will put a hemi or diesel 4 in it for you and they come in 3 door (shown) or 5 door (basically a JK)

awesome vehicle... obviously i wouldnt want to be in one for open combat with not much to protect my from other bullets and my ears :D

i can only imagin what its like havin the M2 blasting away with the 240 singing along with no roof lol

but id still take one :D
