I'll bring a lighter!

That's just crazy talk. I won't know if I'm going until the day before probably. I'd like to though, might turn out to be fun watching wheeler's kid outdrive him.

I wouldn't mind going up to Attica however the timing is lousy for me as I have to work that weekend :( and every weekend between now and then. Now some of those weekends won't be bad to work as I'll be at race tracks most of the time, including the Indy 500 taking pictures :)

Im new and Im IN. I had the pleasure of meeting Randy(intrepidxj) the other night....good guy btw for thoughs who dont know him. He hooked me up with my new tow hooks and suggested that I try and make it out so I plan on arriving on friday evening with my GF, wheeling Sat. and returning home Sun. pending me not breaking down and getting stranded. This will be her frist time wheeling......what am I talkin about.....it will be mine too lol. We wont be tagging along for MI because my rig is not ready for that yet and I need to learn how to drive offroad with my 5spd so I dont go burning up my clutch. On another note the best camping would be at this Summers place, from what I have been reading?

p.s. We are in 100%

Im running 4.5" shortarm RE kit,31 bfg mt/r,porc sye, rebuilt DS,k&n and flowmaster, and maybe Ill get a skid by then lol.

This is going to be a blast...and I cant wait

what spair parts should I have along?

More than likely.
Odds are, someone in the group will have what you need.

Best course is to just not break.:D

I mean of course Im hopeing on not breaking anything, but plan for the unexpected right. So depending on prices at the PnP I might try to have myself and extra axelshaft 1 front 1 rear (dana 30f, c8 1/4r). Im also going to have a u-joint or two with as well(is that over kill for now)? All my tools will be with, which is pretty limited, and I will be buying a tug strap, rear hitch and tow point, highlift, and cb. I hope that should cover it for now. Like I said earlyer it will prolly be the frist time out wheeling it, so Im not going to be going to extream to say the least. Im hopeing to wheel with someone who has a winch as well which I dont think will be a big problem. tim

Is the camping spot summers?

I got some work done on the buggy (including the tranny swap...which the newtome junkyard trans appeared to be functioning properly), so I'm seriously considering this run depending on a few $$ issues...including purchase of a house...which nothing is set in stone just yet...

biggest problem is that I am scheduled to work the entire weekend at this point...if I mark off...i can't commit until 2 weeks prior...that's when I will know if I got the weekend off...

if I can commit...i need to be in the MI group on the saturday...

mac 'get er done' gyvr

looks like we're going to have a good turn out of this. damn i better make it so i can put a few more faces to names.

I'm going to try to make it. It's the week after TRJC Safari so if I don't have any major carnage and Momma gives the OK, I'll come down for a day.

hang with me kid, you'll break.

lol. If I break your going to have to be the one calling my dad for him to pick me up. And I just got in a 2 day fight with him about me breaking.....not fun. He dosent want to have to bail me out. Plus I have to go to work on monday in the rig...and drive it home to the nw burbs of Chicago. Maybe I could stay away from you lol. I need to take'er kinda easy that far from the homestead on out frist trip. But Im sure my wheeling will get more intresting as my rig becomes more capeable. Tim
p.s. rocket man hope to see you out there.

Sounds good Randy. We need to get into at least a little bit though...ok lol, just no breaking. tim

P.S.
Should I be looking for any certin type of trailer hitch? Or just grab any class 2 hitch?(my rear recovery point)
Also should I get a 20 or30,000 lbs snatch strap.....I was leaning twards the 30,000....is that over kill?

I'd recommend a class 3 for a recovery point, something like this -

A good hitch will actually help reinforce the unibody.
Then get one of these to hook your strap to -

20 or 30k strap? If you're following Randy, get the 30k :D

And stay away from that Wheeler guy, he's a bad influence!
