Matt Fest

This past weekend was the first annual Matt Fest held at APV. Unfortunately it really was just a Matt Fest since the only other person to come was Zuki-ron and he was unable to stay long. I ended up trying to follow a Rubicon with 36's for most of Saturday until I hooked up with the Colby Jeep dealership crew. They have invited me to some private land to play on that is only 30 mins from my house.

For the record, 31's on an open/open cherokee is a large enough tire to get yourself into trouble when following a TJ buggy on 35's. Then again, I only took a strap 2 times this weekend.

Rev, since you were not there, my xmember escaped unscathed :moon:. However, I ended up with a nice little dent just above the rear window on the drivers side from a tree.

Sorry about not staying long...

Radiator repairs on the trail suck badly. Busting it again in the same spot, geographic and physical but 1 year later, too much to deal with.
When I managed to close the door on my fingers after diagnosing the radiator leak; well that just took the cake...

On the plus side...

You did all of Yellow that was doable with open diffs
...and I heard you got some serious air coming up that long hill in the middle of Yellow.
...And you did make a good effort on that last hill I did on Red (that must have been where you got the tree) !

It sounds like you had some fun following Bryan around anyway, and good times on meeting up with a local bunch to wheel with!

I left the camera at home, sorry. You folks who like to live vicariously via photos will have to get out and wheel and take a few of your own

I did quite a bit of red also after you left. I made it up 2 of the 3 ways up pitchfork even. It was trying to get over to the third way that I dented my roof. I've got pictures of you going up mickey mouse I'll post up when my camera returns.

Come on now Ron, we all know that they're just a bunch o' web wheelers anyways!!

Mattl, sorry we couldn't make it. Just too much going on around here lately. Glad you enjoyed AVF. Hopefully their next open date I can make it and check the place out.
