The matching funds donation is going to KS Rocks this year. We, the MWC BOD, along with input from the MWC decided it was a worthy cause to donate to as well as helping "to spread the wealth" across the chapter. I encourage anyone that is able to check the park out. It is a very nice and clean park that is ran second to none as far as professionalism and upkeep of the park and its grounds. Our donation will help with trail up keep, and park additions. It has been spoke of that there is going to be an expansion to the rock pit and our matching funds could cover a majority of the funds needed for that improvement.

If the matching funds are available for later in 2010, we all need to be thinking about where we would like to see those funds go. I know that there are some worthy causes out there, so be thinking about them and how we can continue to help spread the wealth!!

Holy crap, you are still alive! Would be good to meet up w/ ya and wheel down there this spring sometime.

I would like to thank MidwestXJ and NAXJA for the donation to KS Rocks.

Since there are probally some that know little of the park or have never heard of it I'll give you guys some background on the park.

Ks Rocks is a non profit organization with a board of directors of about 20 people that is highly dedicated to the sport and the park. We work very hard to provide people with a top notch park. We cover about 240 acres with something for everybody. From the bottomless mud pit to the unpassable rock wall to you will find something you enjoy. Out front we have a large rock garden, articulation moguls, RTI ramps, picnic tables and shelters for lunch, playground for the kiddo's and a jeep sized tettor totter. Just last year with grants clubs from the Kansas Wildlife Department and donations individuals and local we able to purchase the land. This allows us a lot more flexability to develop the park.

Each year we put on 2 park sponsored events. Frostbite (which is our biggest event) usually brings in 200+ rigs and 400+ people. Creepy Crawl is out haunted trail ride in the fall. This year the KS Rocks is happy to add 2 more events. We are going to be hosting a spring and fall amature rock crawling comp.

The comps are being organized and set up by one of the BOD members that competes in WE Rock and R Rock. (I think that's what they are doing this year). They are set up with the daily driver on 33's to 35's to get a taste of a competition.

We aren't just for the offroad crowd though, we also have provisions for moutain bikers, hikers, and offer primitave camping with reservations.

Once again thanks for the donation. It will go far in making KS Rocks that much better. Also if you are close we are almost alway looking for Board members.

You can check out the park at www.ksrockspark.com and you can also find us on facebook. If you have any questions about the park please feel free to contact me. I look forward to meeting more of you on the trail.

Cool, Maybe i'll get out there to wheel one day!

I've never heard of it, or been to Kansas, but OK, good for them!

I'll tell Deadhead AKA John Schnorr from WOHVA that if he wants money from NAXJA next year, he best start sucking up Now! :D

Parakeet - I did not realize KSRocks has grown so much. Where there hiking/biking/primitive camping provisions when we went long ago? My younger sister is in school at Pitt and is an avid road/mountain biker. She has never mentioned KSRocks to me when describing where her bike crew takes their mountain bike journeys. They usually go to AR :eyes:

If your looking at the bathrooms on the left is the Mt Bike play area. And a Mt Bike club out of KC was building most of it. They have also built little jumps and wooden obstacles out here and there in the park.

I don't know if the club is still active as the member we had on the board no longer comes to meeting and they haven't been down in well over a year to work on things. So there hasn't been much developing on that side of it done.

Right now we still have to name the event. Visit www.ksrockspark.com for a thread on helping us come up with a name. And all the dates are tentitive.

May 8th is the tentative date for the spring event.

Sept 18th is the tentative date for the fall event.

I'll see if I can find some pics from the last crawling comp we did.

These are just a few I found off the my clubs site. It was an awesome event and before we were even done people were asking when we were doing the next one. I can't wait till the next one.

Yeah he can. He just barely grazed a cone otherwise he probally would have won the stock class. I mean it barely moved and his spotter (mike moran) complained about it the rest of the day.:bawl:
