looks like it'd be good sight seeing, but... wheelin? [img:79d8c8039f]http://www.extrememopar.com/ot/ugh.gif[/img:79d8c8039f]

I would be down for a run up there.

I live in Santa Rosa, in Sonoma county. And there aren't many places to wheel around here. All of them are in mendocino or Lake counties. I need some place fresh. Haven't been there though.
Keep me updated.

Hey Jack, good place to break in a new t-case. :)

Never been there so I'm up for it. The middle of March could bring lots of mud. Don't like mud but it would be virgin mud and that's the best kind of mud. :D

Maybe Mushroom Rock outside of Kyburz? Would be VERY interesting with a little snow. There's also camping nearby.

So are you talking 15-16 or 22-23?

I can't do 22-23.

I've been up there a couple of times. There are a lot of fire roads and campgrounds on the way up Bear Valley. I been pass the gate once and found a little lake to camp by. It was was probably '89-'90 and I was still on 235's so the wheeling was fire road only. The roads were fun at 30 to 40mph in a stcok rig. That would be a great place to take everybody for an outing but that was also 13yrs ago.

How about Nevada?

There are different levels of trails out there, but it will still be cold as piss in March.

CRASH

Well there are a bunch of local spots around Reno, Carson City, and even Virginia City. We'd need a local guide to get to some of them, but Jes and I know someone.

CRASH

During the summer of 2001 I went out Highway 4 in search of those trails. Ramsey was chained off and we couldn't get in. We couldn't find the pacific trail and so we did Corral Hollow. It was really easy. A bone stock rav 4 could do it. It was really pretty though. Great views and we actually got side tracked and wound up on one of bear valley's ski runs :)
There is some cabin out there with a bunch of emergency supplies in it and a guest book. I signed it so now I am part of history LOL!

Think it's too early in the year for something around Virginia City? That sounds like a place our "southern" brothers to get to.

Camping, vehicle requirements? Want to lead it CRASH?

Just bringing this thing back life. Are we going anywhere? Last real post was for the 15th-16th. Where we going? I need to know if I should get some work done?

That works for me :D

Mushroom Rock on the 15th & 16th?
Lisa and I will go up Friday night. China Flat campground "should" be open. Can someone check?

Easy trail: some rocker protection, maybe 30's? Stockers can do this trail with a little help.

Directions please. I live in the Bay Area so from either 680 from Concord or I-5 from stockten how do I get there. Thanks. Who is going? Is this an official "Run"?
