I was talking with some guys on another thread and one of them mentioned I should have a Meet & Greet up at my place in the mountains. That would be the San Bernardino moutains just above Yucaipa. I am all for it, so I am going to put together a last minute, non orgnanized, low key M&G. Here's my thoughts. We meet in Big Bear somewhere in the morning like 8 or 9 ish. We go wheelin for a few hours and then head to my place for lunch and some beer (or water and soda for you non-drinkers). After lunch we could watch the Florida vs Alabama game. If you can only go wheelin in the morning or if you can only join us for lunch and the game later, I would still be happy to have you join us either way. If your rig is not running or capable enough for whatever trail we decide to run don't be discouraged. I will have 2 open seats in my rig and I am sure that many of the people who come will also have open seats. If you would like to join us for the whole day or just parts of the day, please let me know on this thread. I want to make sure I have enough food and drinks to go around.

I was just informed of a wrenching party on that same day. I absolutely do not want to jack up someone's wrenching party, but this is the only Saturday I have free for a long time. Anybody know what time of day this is going on? We may be able to incorporate the two things. The game will be over around 4:00 and we could head over to the wrenching event then. If the wrenching thing is earlier we could then just do the morning run and lunch. If the wrenching thing is in the morning we could ditch the wheeling and lunch idea and just go over to my place later in the day and watch the game. Someone chime in here and clue me in to the times of Leeps wrenching party.

We will be wrenching all day. I will have burgers and drinks and soda and water and water in a silver can.

I will have game a game going as well.

you can never have too many events :) propz to both of you for taking initiative!

don't worry about it brad - u makin the effort others have been bitchin about. lets make it happen. u need some help from me? i can help w/ beer/soda/cookin/ etc. need more help? i'm sure there r 1 or 2 peeps on naxja who can help in one form or another

Thanks for the quick response Leep. This is the only Saturday I have free for a while. I have a pregnant wife who is due the first week of January, so my time is extremely limited right now. I know that once our baby is here it will be VERY difficult for me to take the Jeep out. Lets do this: If anyone out there saw this thread and decided to change there mind and come to my place, PLEASE DON'T. Let's drop the Meet and Greet title from my little thing. I already planned on going wheelin that day and watching football and I am still going to do that. If you have already told Leep you would be helping him or even have considered helping him then please do that. If you had no intentions of helping Leep then feel free to Join me in Big Bear Saturday morning and then back to my place for lunch and football. Leep if this still bothers you, please let me know. If need be, I will call off my plans all together and just go wheelin with my neighbor. The NAXJA family is very important to me and the last thing I want to do is start stepping on toes and pissing people off.

Wow!!! Before I was able to write my last message, you guys responded before me. It seems you guys are still wanting to do this thing on the 5th. Before I just go full speed with this thing, I would really like to see what Leep's response is out of respect to him and the fact that he had planned something before me.

The wrench party at leeps will for my jeep. We will have plenty of help, Go on and continue with your plans. You can never have to many events going on at once. SoCal is a big place.

I just wish as a club we had more overlapping things to do. No worries, go for it, get them that want to wheel at your place and I will get the ones that need to fix a thing or two on their jeeps at mine.

All in all we are amongst NAXJA friends.

We do have a few coming out to work like tim says, but like I said in my orig post and just above, if you want to wrench come on out.

Thanks Tim (Son of the Leep) and the ACTUAL Leep. I really appreciate you guys being so gracious. Alright guys so it would seem that we will be having two events on the 5th. Like I stated earlier, DO NOT change your plans if you already intended to help Tim. If you had no plans then feel free to join us in Big Bear for a morning of wheelin and then back to my place for food and football. If you guys get Tim's rig all together and it is still early then feel free to come on over and make it one big event. If you are brand new to the Jeep thing and want to get plugged in, then I would HIGHLY encourage you to go to one of these events. If you want to learn to wrench on your Jeep then go with Leep and if you want to learn how to drive your Jeep then go with me. Either place you go you will be with great people and will have a great time.
Now we simply need to pick a trail to run. Any thoughts? You guys know that I love Jon Bull and would love to run it again, but only if others would like to. I am really open to going anywhere.

I would recommend gold mtn if you get anyone on 31's with 3.5 or less.

Then tote over to jacoby cyn.

we could possibly go check out our AAT and log some hours for the group. It is on your side of the mountain. There are some other trails off of that one that offer varying degrees of difficulty. Clarks Grade/Summit is a nice easy run. Not sure how difficult we want to make the run if less capable rigs show up.

I think before we decide the trail we run, we should find out who is planning on coming. If a bunch of really built Jeeps are coming then we may want to run Jon Bull and the guys who don't have built Jeeps can just hop in our vehicles. If we have a bunch of mildly built Jeeps coming then we could run Gold mtn. If we have a bunch of stockers coming then we can run Clarkes Grade or something.

Please post up if you would like to come or send me a PM. We need to know the types of Jeeps that are coming and allow me to figure out the right amount of food and drinks. I may need some help on the alcohol end of things if we have a bunch of drinkers coming. Beer can get expensive around a group of drunks and my budget isn't real huge.

I would just plan what ever food and game you are going to show after the wheeling and have everyone bring their choice of beverage

Unless you like pure pasturized H20 in a silver can(make sure the mountains are blue)

Good Idea. I have about 20-30 beers of different types in the frig right now. Those probably will not last long. For those of you guys coming, maybe you could help me out. If there is a certain brand of soda or beer you love then please bring it. I will provide some burgers and hotdogs from the grill, snacks, whatever beer I currently have in the fridge, and bottled water. If there is something you feel is a must outside of that then feel free to bring it yourself.

As of right now I am thinkig we should probably run Gold mtn. That is something that almost any mildly built XJ could run and the more built Jeeps can still have a good time.

Now we need to start a list of who is coming. Also let me know how many people you think you will bring with you.

As of right now we have:

Luvdlions(Justin)
Terryg (coming late)
bhicks (me)
Aaron (my neighbor)
JohnYarbrough (brand new to naxja)

and hopefully a lot more

I'll talk to Vince, Kenny, Donny and Louie. I would imagine Frankie has already seen the thread, but I am training some parts to him today so I will talk to him as well.

I just got off the phone with Frankie and it seems he will probably join us as well. I have Vince's son in my 6th period class and I will talk to him about talking to his dad. Looks like we should have a good turnout.
