Lowered Mjs

Heyo,
Before the flaming I have a trail rig XJ on 35s. I have a lead on a renix MJ, 4.0, 4 speed, 2wd swb. I was thinking of lowering it. Anyone have picks of MJs lowered 1-3 inches? Maybe with 17s? I was going to throw a locker in the rear and maybe throw a 3.55 rear end in it too, with some good road handling tires. Upgrade to a 97+ front including fenders and doors. maybe some WJ leather seats and 97+ center console. Repaint it black and do a "murdered out" look with 17" crager soft 8s. So pics of lowered MJs would be great.

lastaraI mean it's your vehicle and all, so you can do what you want with it, but... Sense you're asking please NO. If any thing do a "fake" Jeep Speed build with 33x10.50s 3-4.5" of lift and do a stroker. Do all the other stuff like the new front clip and blacking out everything if that's your thing. This way you can still haulass, but not have a jeep look like a tacky ricer. just my 2 cents.

Dude Lowered MJ's are accepted around here. That attitude is played out! This is the STREET forum.

As long as you don't mutilate the body and slam the hell out of it I think it'd be cool. Keep the tacky chrome to a minimum too ;)

As for those saying "don't do it"... http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=975968

They beat a whole bunch of world records with that truck. I dare say it's got worse salt/rust problems than mine though.

What Flex said, this is the street forum. Don't like street modded Jeeps, then you might as well stay out.

This had always been one of my favorites, Swiss MJ IIRC, on 20's

Then of course there is the uber rare "Street MJ". Not a fan of the wheel choice.

This has some street appeal as well, 350 under the hood.

Don't mind the guys who get butthurt that not everyone lifts their station wagon- just ignore them. This forum isn't for them, but they still like to pop in and complain.

Lowered XJ/MJ discussions pop up periodically. Search on google, typing "archer brothers site:naxja.org" in- I think most of the lowered MJ pics are of their race Jeeps, although Hesco's wide body MJ and a few others are documented to some degree.

That First MJ that Kittrel posted up is one of my favorites. It just looks good. It is kinda what I am going for with my MJ street build. I have been slowly collecting parts during flight school so that after I wing I can go to town.

I have a set of WJ brakes, and lower control arms, going to grab some uppers next time I see them.
Ford 9" for the rear with 3.73's
Looking into a Dakota split bench.
I am also very tempted by the few LSx swaps that have been going on around here.

I love the look of street MJ's.

Can't stand the look of those 20s, I think they'd be better maybe a little smaller and in black, but otherwise I like it. Maybe clear markers...

Basically, I can't stand this:

Bigger trucks no, small trucks look good like that if they are done tastefully.

As stated before, I have a lifted, and wheeled jeep, I want to do a street jeep.

I really like that first black MJ that was posted, I want to build it simliar pending I get this MJ.

Lift it and put 28's on it! :D

Why the RHD trend? That is so dumb. Kinda digging the MJ though!

I used a set of ZJ rear coils in the front of my '88 2.5L MJ. They initially provided a drop of around 2" and have settled to a nice 3" now. It also gave a bit of a stiffer ride, but that's what I was going for. In the rear, I will be using blocks to lower it 3" as well, but only until I can fab up a 4 link rear setup.
