i have an uncle that is looking for some slightly longer than stock shocks for his YJ.
front
19.5" at ride height so looking for something that is maybe around 22.5-23.5" long max?
stud to eye i believe

rears are 16.5" at ride height. so maybe around 19.5 -20.5" max length?
i have like 4 sets of shocks but they are way too long or way too short.
eye to eye

i just realized he never pulled his sway bars that would limit droop...

ill look around for rear bump stops. if i go to pnp any time soon ill grab some off a MJ. they are a little longer.
i think have some OEM 4runner shocks?

and yes i have some shocks in the box that are short, they are edelbrock twintubes. you can have them for the trailer! they are like 18" max length . they are stud to eye.

thanks for the bump!

I doubt my fronts are long enough, but have a set of barely used RC hydro rears, I'll measure them and get back to you.

The rears I have are approx 15.5" compressed and 26" extended. They are from a WJ so are eye-eye, would need bar pin pressed in or BPE's unless TJ rear shocks mount different.

I need bumps that are about 4.25" for the trailer (obviously, I can space it out), but I might go by PnP tomorrow and see if I can find anything - thanks for telling me what to look for.

And then, on the shocks, I needed as close to 14" compressed as I could get, with at least 10" of travel. I ended up just ordering some cheap Doetch Techs. Honestly, now that I've made the whole trailer from scratch, it will be hard to put used parts on it :D

Thanks Jon. I hope you find some shocks for your uncle.

Johnnie,
i think 26" in the rear would be too long . its a YJ with a 2" body lift. i dont think the extra length would be an issue, just the lack of uptravel.
im looking for some pretty short shocks it seems. those hydro rears would leave him with only 1" of up travel if they are 15.5" compressed and he is at 16.5" at ride height. although those would be nice. im trying to talk him into some rear aals to help his old saggy springs.

Billy,
that trailer sounds sweet! yah these shocks are brand new edelbrock twintubes in the box, free to anyone. but they are short. i dont think there is 10" of travel in them but there might be, free to anyone that wants them...

So I guess that my fronts are pretty much the size you need. They are approx 15.5" compressed stem to barpin and 23"ish extended.

johnnie:
what kind of front shocks? brand etc?
youre way down south though huh?
i wonder when ill go down there next...
