looking for a used CB

I'm looking for a used CB preferably a handheld. I had my last few mounted on my trail rig, but then when I was out hiking or hunting I didn't have access to it. Have wheeled with a few guys that could carry it and I REALLY liked the functionality of it. I understand the range isn't as good, but I figured I'd give it a try. If I get no responses then I will just pick one up at Radio shack after the holidays.

I do not have one for sale, but I use a Cobra 38WXST in my own vehicle.

I created a mount out of extruded aluminum which is on the right hand side of the steering wheel, right below the level of the instrument cluster. I hook up the antenna connector to an cable leading to antenna mounted on the roof near the hatch. The cable is run down the steering column, across to the passenger side, up the pillar, along the roof to the underside of a firestik mount.

To transmit, I used a lapel mic and eliminated the speaker pin. The downside is the mic pin is very small and is not up to the abuse. I am currently using the CB without the lapel mic and just leaning towards the built in mic when I push to talk.

Works well. I carry the mobile antenna in the center console, and can remove the CB, swap antennas and use it outside of the vehicle if needed.

All this and I have no pictures to share(I am at work).

P.S. As much as I like the look of the antenna on the roof(and it functions well), I cringe when I am going through wooded areas as I hear it dragging through the brush. I had a firestik, but the spring was too heavy and the roof flexed more than the spring. Now I use a 36" whip, but I still hate dragging it. I would recomend a CB mount on the edge of the engine compartment and a Firestik antenna.

I looked at that Cobra CB and read good reviews. I will probably go with that model and get the magnet roof mount addition so I can get the full range of permanent mounted CB but also plug in the small antenna and then have the portable option.
