Looking for a Rear D44 with 68" WMS and 5x5.5

I have a Jeep Cherokee D44 under my rig but it is narrower than the full width front D44 from a Bronco. I have been running adapters/spacers, but I would like to come up with a D44 closer to the 68" WMS. I have also been looking into a semi-float D60 5x5.5 from a Ford E250.

68" WMS is a big ask for a D44 rear, I believe the wide track FSJ's are 65", wrong pattern of course. Ford did use the D44 in the rear of 1951 through 1956 F-100's, but it was only about a wide as the XJ. The SF D60 is going to be your best bet, IIRC the E250 is 67.5" WMS, but of course you are converting the front to 8 lug at that point.

What about a JK D44? Wider then an Xj axle, comes with disc brakes, stronger ring and pinion then an Xj 44....idk the end width though and you would still have to run 5x5-5x5.5 adapters. I would run that all day long over a rear Dana 60 though... yuck

Theses also the full width 8.8 out of f150/broncos, correct width and bolt pattern for your front axle...but drum brakes

What years have that axle?

I looked into the F-100 axle, track width is 60"
