Ok so im getting ready to look at Long Arm Kits. There are allot of kits, designs & styles. Im not 3 linking, I want to stay with 4. I also dont have anything against Rustys... So now its your turn to tell me what you think. So go........:compwork:

I loved my TnT long arm until I went to my Dana 44. There are draw backs like anything.
Cost, not fun to do trans services on.

Why so not interested in three link? I did mine a few years ago, and A ton better than any radius style long arm kit. I would say full traction for a true 4 link.

I dunno my Y-link has worked fine for me. I've also thought about a 3 link, but have heard its not the best think for a rig that is driven on the roads alot, but there is alot of misinformation out there.

rough country is great if ur on a budget. tnt and re are great if u got the money but i know alot of ppl the run into problems with iron man with there uca adjuster

i just did this in may kenny.

1: what is your goal of longarming it?

2: what con's are you trying to avoid?

ill try my best to give you what i know. i have the 3link from the dellstopjeep installed, and i have no dd driveability issues. if i were to do it agin, id do a 4link...

Bronze.

my clayton 3 link kit preforms awesome on the road and off road. Even with un balanced 40" tires and a home done alignment I can go 80 down the freeway. That is pure beef. also you don't have to pull the arms to do maintenance on your trans / tcase, or even putt them. Plus they are a sponsor and donated to our northwest chapter in a big way, they also make 4 link kits. Also look up BDS they also donated in a big way to the NWC.

Any off the shelf Kit is sure to please!

I'm personally Torn between two brands for when I long arm the XJ..

Iron rock offroad.. For me, the "3 link" kit they offer (its a radius arm setup.. not 3 link) Is Very Stout, It's Been proven in many Northwest Chapter rigs.. The 3 piece crossmember, as-well as 5/16" D.O.M. tube all for about $700 Shipped, Is a Great value!! Ive witness thousands of miles with Zero Issue's from Numerous rigs..

The other option for me is Claytons offroad.. Dont get me wrong, IRO is a Great kit, But Claytons has a Cult like following for a reason.. Tried and true designs, with Premium Quality Grease'able Currie 2.5" johnny joints.. the Pro-3link kit comes with a Truss, and 6 Of the Johny joints.. for $890 shipped.. Or the Double radius system is $950 shipped..

Honestly tho, From rough country, rustys, IRO, Rubicon express, TNT, Full traction, RockKrawler,Claytons, Andys, BDS, etc etc etc.. You wont find a bad deal.. In my opinion!

well i experanced an upper link falure while running the 3link. i was lucky to get me and the family home safe.(thx agin keith). if you loose your only upper link in the system, things start to walk around and spring apart on there own. you have basicly done all the hard work of finding your angles, mounting points, link bracket locations, and link lengths by doing a 3link. adding a 4th link would be very easy to add during the build process. provided you plan for it. the added inshurance of a 4th link is invalubale IMO.

mine was a home brew system, so i had many factors to deal with that a "Kit" usualy takes care of. i am not a fan of the "y" link systems. the geometry doesent sit well in my head.

i hope that makes since.
Bronze.

But then again, theres MOJOJOJO's rig

Yeah me either Jon, I've been having problems with my Y-link rubbing on my drive shaft. TNT told me to center the axle then push it two turn of the track bar to the passengers side.

The BDS 4 link FTW! Look into it....i can send you pics of the setup on my jeep. Very strong, quality parts, great customer service.
