I came across this guys website and I see that he made his long arm kit with the uppers being tied in directly above the lower long arm. Any advice on if this was a good idea or a bad idea? I'm currently researching on what would be the best way to build my front long arm kit and if I should tie them in just like they connect to the stock axle or move them like this guy. Any pictures or advice would be greatly apprecaited.

Thanks for the reply, but my biggest concern is should I make the upper control arm and the lower tie into the axle right above one another like the link I posted, or should I have them tie into the axle like yours did? Is there any advantage or disadvantage from one to another?

It makes no difference, it's the vertical separation between the two links, at termination that makes the difference. The top links are meant only to control the rotation of the axle.

PS - That crossmember is a MAJOR ROCK ANCHOR so I hope you're not getting any ideas from that!

THANK YOU FOR THE RESPONSE.

I've done some searching here, but I can't seem to find a good mounting point for the long arm. I've seen many different ways people are mounting the long arm to the crossmember, but is that wise? Or should I make a mount off the frame that would be re-enforced?

If anyone has a good crossmember or mount picture, I would appreciate it. Also what angle do I need to pay attention to primarily when creating the long arm mount to the crossmember or frame?

Mounting the long arms to the crossmember is not unsafe, it's just a BIG PITA if you need to drop the crossmember. Did you try searching for "crossmember" on XJDB (and here for that matter)?
