Lodging

I'm thinkin I might stay at the campground saturday night. I'm only 3 hours away, so I figured I'd just drive out sat morning super early.

Should we bring a tent for the camp ground, or would just a tarp be ok?

Depends on the weather and how comfortable you want to be.
Might consider sleeping in the XJ,........ it's been done before!

You should not have any problems. Depending on what the items are, you can put them in the back of my Tahoe when it is parked over at the park while we are wheeling. I will be around Thursday afternoon through Sunday morning if that will help ya.

I am so sleeping in my XJ Friday and Saturday night... leaving Sunday morning... Also interested in a "safe place" to keep stuff I don't want to take on trail...

no problem, but like I said, everything should be safe around the campgrounds

Sean had a pair of Bushwackers disappear one year.

I left my trailer at the CG all weekend last year with my cooler, tires and other misc junk on it and didn't have any problems. I locked the trailer tongue, but that was it.

Just got off the phone with the campground. They say that they're ready for us. Shower house is up and running.....it's even heated. I think I know where I'll be sleeping.:D

They did as when our first people would be arriving. I told them I thought Wed. or Thrus. and they were fine with that. He told me to spread the word that if noone is in the office to just make yourself at home and that you could settle up with them when they get there.

Good to know thanks,

and I wasn't expecting a shower woo hoo... Don't drop the soap.

Just a word.

If you are not camping....and want to visit the campground, PLEASE check in at the office, let them know who you are, and why your there.

This has really helped avoid any issues in the past.

Yes, very good. Thank them too!

So I'm "camping" in my jeep, you said we don't need to register with the campground correct?...

You don't need to make reservations, but you will need to pay for a site, whether primitive or electric.

If I end up sleeping in the Jeep, I'm getting an electric site so I can run my space heater :D
