So, I took two days off to go down south and have the great crew at JCR Offroad install a Detroit in the rear, a True-trac in the front and new 4.56 gears.
I know Kalamazoo MI isn't the destination hotspot of this time of year, or well.. ever, but the wife and I made it a mini-vacation. We took in the Gilmore Car Museum (awsome), found a great pizza (Bilbo's) got some donuts (Sweetwater Mill) and just generally relaxed while the JCR guys did their thing. They said it'd take 2 days to do the job, so when Daryl called me Thursday night at about 6pm I was surprised to learn that they were done already.
We had some fresh snow in the yard when I got home so of course I had to see how the new equipment would function. It works great! Errmm.. until you get enough snow under those JCR skidplates to float the XJ and the tires loose contact with, well, anything.
The wife was kind enough to take a picture for you.
A little tug with the plow and all was right with my world again.
Got the new speedo gear ordered from Morris and covers ordered from Ruffstuff tonight.
