Local muffler sources?

Need a new flowmaster 40 and cat back...

Local muffler shop can make me the piping...

Anyone found a local source for flowmaster mufflers that's not too outrageously priced?

Summit's got them online for $80...

but then there's shipping...

blah blah blah

later.

I got mine from Vatozone.

Don't know if they still carry them.

Rev

oh ya...

I calld them...

"What make car? what model? what engine?"

"nope...we don't carry them for your car"

Well how about ordering me a series 40 with a 2.5" inlet and outlet?

"Sorry... we don't show one for your car"

:sigh:

What a bunch of numbnuts.

Maybe Ebay has someone local...

Pretty sure I saw them at PepBoys here in Crestwood.

I just ordered the 50 and tailpipe from Rusty's on Wednesday, and got it yesterday!

Think it was $172 shipped, included three clamps.

So, my heep no longer sounds like ass :passgas:

Yup...

The one that rusted thru (ironic no?) and broke in half and managed to wrap itself around my axle on the way to work is in fact, from Rusty's!

Not a bad deal considering it lasted 7 or so years...

The flowmaster might actually be salvageable with a little welding...

I'll have to take a closer look tomorrow.

While we're on the subject of exhaust, how about a source for a decent high flow cat?
Judging by the junk that was falling out of mine, it's now just an empty chamber. I don't understand - it looks fine on the outside...

I wonder when my next emissions test is...

I originally had a nice pricey Radom hi-flow cat that worked great until a few weeks of running too rich ruined it...

The muffler shop by my house installed a "high-flow cat" (brand unknown) that was meant for a heavy duty/trailer application...

I want to say it was under $200

I've got it setup so that every 2 years I loosen a few muffler clamps and bolt it in before I go get inspected...

It should last me until I lose it

:D

I have a Gibson cat back exhaust.
I've been pretty rough on it.
(that comes with driving on 31's)
it is still there and sounds good.

...BOB

I lost my muffler and cat back when my jeep was stock...
some rock wraped the tail pipe around the axle... muffler fell off.. Cat got crushed and had to be pounded out to let the heep run properly...

and have yet to replace any of it...

works just fine for me :D
