leafs up front

why don't you guys like shackle reversal? it makes complete sense to me in that i don't want to be banging shackles into rocks and bending leaves and it just makes sense to have the fixed end of the leaf spring in the fron for climbing/traction. with shackle reverse the axle will not puch away from the obastacle you are climbing, rather it will push into it and climb the bastid. think about it, you guys are nuts!
i used 4" yj leaves soa and it gave me a good amount of lift once i shackle reversed it.

with the shackles in the rear don't ya get a bunch of brake dive? Also about how much lift does the 4" YJ's SOA give ya? I ordered some today and am lookin for ideas on how much my rear is gonna have to go up

Does anyone have a link to that front spring conversion tutorial that was posted in a simple thread a few months ago. The xj was rust red he had a nice setup. Too bad I had to reformat my computer I would have posted it.

link to pics of all of my jeep project in first page of this thread. there are pics with the whole thing torn apart and then pics of progress with my axles and then pics of it "done" with my first leaf setup with shackle forward. then i have pics of my new srs and of course the famous chop job i did with the good old plasma cutter!

about the srs: what kind of lifted vehicle doesn't have brake dive?
umm i dunno about you guys but i see all fullsize trucks that have/had leafs come with srs, and toyotas!!! talk about tried and tested.
who the hell cares about this mythical brake dive bs anyway?

i couldn't really tell you what amount of lift i got from my setup, somewhere around 9-10"... so tooooo much lift imo.
there is not really a way to tell you how much lift you will achieve either. the only way to do that would be if you have the exact same jeep as me, same weight/weight distribution and if you built it all the same. so if you went and got the same leafs as me and built the same mounts and put them in the same place and if your jeep was exactly like mine then it would work.

this is kind of ground not so oftenly treaded upon so there is no standard lift height etc.
