If your into the fram thing (lots of people think they are crap ) ph8 or ph16, can't remember which is the bigger one. You will know it when you see them side by side.

Mobil 1, M1-301

There are several coices as far as brands
PH8A Fram (not the best in my opinon)
FL1A Motorcraft
1515 Napa
51515 Wix
should help

If your oil filter is in the horizontal position you can use a Napa 1773 which bring your oil capacity to 7.5 quarts

Same-same and either is a very good choice. Wix makes the NAPA Gold filters including the 1515. This applies to all 4.0L HO engines with the non-metric (horizontal) oil filter.

I did some pretty extensive research on filters, the fram's suck, unless you go xg (extended guard). I use an XG8 on my rig. all the other fram filters have cardboard caps on the inside which have to be glued, which can be a friggin nightmare waiting to happen, the overflow valves in the other fram's have a bad reputation of being stuck open, or non-functional, here check these out.

just a heads up on that last post.... that is for filter info only, not what type of filter you can run.... just info on filter's, who actually makes them, like the Mobil 1, looks like a champion filter on the inside..... so it probably is.... this is just to help you decide what brand is going to be the best as far as filtration and flow, quality.... that's all... you still need to size right....

what i did, was get a stock filter, ask your parts guy to look as several larger filters and match up the o-rings, as long as the threads are the same, bingo. my filter actually seals on the outside ring of the filter mount, that was actually supposed to be there to protect the edges of the smaller filter, which sits inside that ring. so my filter doesn't screw in as far, but it doesn't affect the filter in anyway. I don't know of a larger filter that will fit, so you could use the XG8 as a cross-referance.

hope that helps....
