Lake County XJ's?

Hi there,

Are there any NAXJA members in Lake County? I would like to meet fellow XJ peeps.

If so it would be fun to meet and if you are doing some mods let me know, I'd be willing to lend a hand.

Other than welding I can do pretty much anything else and have a good background of most mods.

where in lake county are you? I spend a TON of time at Indian Valley Reservoir wheeling/biking around and a buddy just moved to Capay so i'll be out there a lot more.

Hi Thanks for the replies!

I grew up in the area, Lucerne/Upper Lake. What area your you from?

My postal calls it Kelseyville, but I'm on Clearlake Riviera; off Soda Bay Road near the fire station / grocery store.

I've been here a year now and have only scratched the surface of all the nice places around here. Two other places I know about but have no feedback on are Bogg's Mountain recreation area (near Cobb on hwy 175) and Cow Mountain (near Ukiah). Anyone been to either?

The work on my XJ is progressing quickly but I have a bit left to go to finish up. All the wore out stuff has pretty much been swapped or redone, this month I hope to get it to the body shop to get the worst of the ugly stuff fixed, then the suspension goes on. It's been fun to work on so far and more fun to drive.

Cow mtn is fun. They have been building it up over the last few years. You can get there from the 11th street exit in Lakeport too. It can be hard to find things up there at first. Thete are a lot of roads.

Never been to Boggs. Pillsbury is nice to camp and light wheeling.

what is boggs and pilsbury?

Cow Mountain is a lot of fun. A lot of really great trails, nothing too crazy though. They have a decent staging area though with a little rock garden. Pillsbury is also fun but lighter wheeling. Only scary part about it though is you're pretty far out there.

Re: Lake County XJ's? None?

Once I get my XJ done I'll be ready to do some exploring for sure.

So we don't have any members here around the lake? Maybe I will have to recruit some - there are quite a few XJs around here.

:us:

There is srmitchell up in the northern area. But he 's over in Humbolt county, not really in your area.

i live most of the time in Lower Lake. currently working on a xmache

Cool, how far along are you on it? I'm still throwing parts at mine until it's worth even bothering with a trail.

Look me up sometime if you need a hand or want to compare notes!

aways still trying to find funding for it.

Always a battle - mine just went to the body shop to get the most offensive damage fixed - the front was kinda crunched and my new bumper wouldn't mount right so I wanted to straighten it out. Gonna set me back but I just try to do a couple mods a month to make progress.

what color is your jeep?

I dont have a new picture, but here is how Larry looked when I started
