I havent bought one but i'm making my own extension if you go back a few pages you can see the start of it.
Cool. That's a good idea. So do you remember the size of the round stock you use? ...or are you going to make me come up with a digital calipar and figure it myself...:spin1:Stroketech said:I ended up getting steel round stock. I cut the round stock 3 inches longer then the gap and slid the round stock into teh open end of each rack cross bar. It fit very tight. I didnt have to dissasemble the rack to do it I just slid one end in and then the other. I used a 3/8's ratchet extension and put a dimple in the cross bar tubes to hold the round stock in place so it wouldnt slide down the tube. After that I put the 4 cross bars on by welding them to the 6 I had already installed. Then I primed it and painted it. Its actually really strong. I'm planing on getting a gutter mount system for it or finding 2 more xj cross bars to stiffen the whole thing up.

Stroketech said:Click on the link in the first page of this thread. The roof rack is nowhere near worth $200. I wouldnt have payed more then $100 for it. So if you missed out on this deal it would make more sense to spend the money and get a good one now.
