Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

that happened to my 94 more times than i can remember. i just always stuck it back on and it worked.

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

I'm probably gonna do an 8.8 with 4.10s + LSD if I can get it cheap enough... I would rather only pay for one set of gears if I can. If I don't end up doing that, it's 4.56s or 4.88s time.

you can find that rear in the jy for $50 that is where I got mine and it has all that.. got it out of a 97 explorer.

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

lol smart ass. so i will have to buy another housing for $50 but i will turn the old one back in for a $10 core charge. so $90 for an 8.8 with 4.10's lsd and discs is still not bad!

Lucky! Cheapest I could find around here was Sam's Pull-a-Part in Worcester, charged me 100 for an 8.8 (4.10, no LSD, only about 1/16" rust.) I'll be dropping around 150 on brake rotors/pads/parking shoes shortly, I think it's funny that it's costing me more in brake hardware than the axle itself. Got mine out of a 96 or a 97 I think, not sure - I know it was after the drum/disc switchover because mine has discs :D

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

Bored at work and just ordered a new valve cover gasket for my latest project which is slow down oil leaks. Because I know they'll never be completely gone.

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

PS... if anyone needs spark plugs Rock Auto has the regular champions (not the truck ones) on closeout (30 day warranty) for .80 a piece.

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

slow down the oil leaks? Why would you do that? That was installed at the factory, it's known as the "continuous oil change" option and came with any Jeep that included a gas tank or wheels.

I heard something once, that back in the day, you could order a jeep without the wheels. that they would option everything down to the engine.

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

Reminds me... I wonder what would happen if you sent an order in to MOPAR for every single part required to build a Jeep? With a parts catalog it wouldn't be too difficult to put the list together, I bet it'd cost like 40 grand though - if they even stock some of the panels and frame sections anymore.

I have thought about that idea before. I even started a list once. I got about through the frame and axles and realized it was taking too long for my ADD to concentrate on one thing and started chasing a skirt...

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

chasing skirts is boring, they don't move much. chasing what's in them on the other hand...

quite true. but now you got me thinking that if one could somehow figure out how to use this fact to chase a girl while having the skirt remains stationary, it would be a quantum leap toward achieving the goal. you know, like Newton's First Law....

An 'old' married man might argue that chasing the skirt is almost as fun as catching what is inside...:shhh:

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

I wish I had a skirt to chase

Then again an increase in time/money spent skirt chasing would effectively have an inverse relation with regard to the time/money spent fixing the Jeep... So I think I will postpone any chasing of the skirt until after the Jeep is street/trail worthy. Unless I can lure a skirt to me, if I can do that then clearly she is desperate enough to put up with my Jeep addiction... gotta find some bait...
